Chapter303

I knew those footsteps well.

Yet, I felt a weird kind of calm inside.

Antonio's voice, all wobbly and unsure, only hit me when he stopped behind me.

"Grace, is that really you?” he asked.

I didn't bother turning but kept my eyes glued to my phone.

Antonio came up to me, his gaze fixed on me. He came closer, one step at a time. "Grace, I know it's you.”

I titted my head, my face all confused. "Excuse me, sir, but are you talking to me?"

A lot had changed since the last time he saw me. My long hair was history, now it was a bob that hit my shoulders.

My way of dressing had changed totally, nothing like the old me.

My makeup, my vibe, everything about me was different now.

Antonio's eyes were a bit bloodshot. “Grace, I get that you're still pissed at me. Michelle played me, and that's why I did all those shitty things to you."

Antonio was my childhood sweetheart, and Tyler was my brother by blood.

But they didn't have any mercy. They slashed at my heart with knives sharp as razors.

I was left with so many cuts, bleeding like crazy.

Now, it had been a couple of years. The cuts had closed up, but they had left a bunch of scars.

The pain from those old wounds had vanished. The ones who inflicted them couldn't shake my emotions anymore.
