I felt his body tense, his eyes suddenly locking onto me in shock. I watched Vorath’s reaction, and okay, that wolf looked like he had just been struck by lightning.

"Of course I do, baby. How could you even think we’d reject them?" He doesn’t hesitate for even a second, and my heart melts with sweetness.

"I’m going to protect them, Kath—our family, our pack."

"Then all the more reason for us to leave this cursed realm," my brow furrows, our joy now tinged with bitterness.
