“Mr. Eric, are you seriously letting something this minor stop you?”

Alice stretched, arms high above her head. Her yawn broke the silence.

“It’s fine,” she said casually. “If today doesn’t fix it, then try again tomorrow. There’s always a way,”

Eric stayed frozen, sitting on the edge of the bed with his thoughts spinning.

Alice stood up and slipped into her jacket right in front of him, not the least bit flustered.

“It’s breakfast time,” she said, brushing her hair from her face.

“And I’ve got a battle to fight.”

She was talking about the mess with Global Hotel.

“Any updates on Stanley?” he asked.

Stanley had finished several assignments before being sent overseas to investigate the woman from Eric’s

What a loss.

If she had made it to their side of the world, she could’ve been unstoppable.

Still, the feeling didn’t last.

Honestly, he was glad she hadn’t survived it.

Because if she had, what would happen to Alice?

“Daniel!”

Eric’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

Daniel straightened up right away,

“Sorry, Mr. Eric. What did you say just now?”

Eric pressed his fingers to his forehead for a moment, then said calmly, “Tell your brother to stop looking. If there’s still nothing, he can come–home.”

Daniel’s heart felt like it took off at full speed.

“Looks like Ms. Randall is starting to panic,” he said quietly.

Daniel didn’t understand, so he kept quiet.

Still, he couldn’t help feeling that this visit to the Martinezes was pointless.
