Shane said brazenly, "Anyway, I said I'm not going to work, so I won't!"

Carlisle took a deep breath and said, "Very well! You said that yourself. Don't you regret it!"

Shane shrugged. "Sure."

Then, Carlisle called Justin and told him to stop giving Shane any money starting this month. Then, Carlisle blocked Shane's phone number.

When Steven arrived at the office, all he could think of was Annalise. He walked up to the window and quietly stared into the distance.

For some odd reason, ever since Annalise left Steven, she had only been getting better. A few days ago, when Steven met Annalise, he could see a hint of distress on her face. But today, Annalise seemed relaxed and happy.

Zane treated Annalise well. If anyone tried to blame Annalise, Zane would trust her unconditionally. If Annalise was upset, the icy Zane would patiently comfort her. Zane loved and treasured Annalise; he was the complete opposite of Steven.

Steven even thought that if Zane continued to treat Annalise so well, Steven, who once hurt Annalise, might be willing to give up and bless their relationship.
