Gavin preferred his girlfriend to stick to understated, elegant colors, but Sherry was all about vibrant, attention-grabbing shades. She'd made up her mind to pick out a few eye-catching dresses to refresh her wardrobe after work.

Sasha turned to Sherry and spoke animatedly. "There are three pizza places nearby, and I've tried all of them. Each one has something unique. One offers incredibly fresh toppings, another serves a rich and flavorful sauce, and it's reasonably priced, though the menu is limited.

"And then there's the buffet spot known for always keeping everything fresh. Which one are you in the mood for?"

Sherry's eyes brightened as she glanced at Sasha. "How about we start with the second one?"

A smile spread across Sasha's face. "Definitely! I've been curious about that one, too!"

"Let's go for it!" Sherry quickened her pace.

Sasha led the way, her steps purposeful. They had barely reached the company's entrance when Gavin appeared, stepping directly into their way.

He fixed his gaze on Sherry. "Had enough of this mess yet? If you're done, act like it and come home with me. The company's falling apart without you."

Sasha, standing nearby, spoke up without hesitation. "If it's already falling apart, what's the harm in shaking things up a bit more?"

Gavin shot her a sharp look. "This is not the time for your sarcasm!"

Sasha shrugged. "Honestly, you're being unreasonable. She's already working for us.

"Doesn't that make it clear enough? She's done with you! Why are you still holding on to her?"

Yet, everyone had fully bought into the idea that if they supported the newcomer, who had no real experience, their partners would stay loyal to the company out of respect for their influence. They underestimated Sherry's worth.

She had taken it all in that day, intentionally committing every reaction to memory. Not one person had displayed even the faintest regret over her leaving.

Sherry smiled and continued, "You threw a bunch of harsh words at me, telling me to get out. So I did, just like you wanted.

"Now, I've moved on to a new job. And suddenly, you want me back? What makes you think I'd go along with that?"

Gavin still didn't seem to get it.

"You wanted to break up because of Yvette, right? She was always around. But now she's getting married. She won't be in my life anymore. You can finally stop worrying, right?" he asked.
