Brian noticed Jessica wasn’t feeling well, quickly jumped in, said goodbye to the others, and helped her head toward the cantaloupe field nearby.
Vanessa, wanting to chat more, said goodbye to the live stream viewers and then followed them.
Lillian had been about to go, too, but when she saw Vanessa follow, she stayed. She talked to the camera, chatted with the viewers, and answered some questions. She was really professional.
Once Sabrina was sure Jessica was okay, she took Connor off to pick figs.
She wasn’t interested in the live stream. She’d rather eat more fruit than spend time chatting with viewers. After all, she had no plans to get into the entertainment industry.
The group had a great morning in the orchard. They only left reluctantly when the crew announced lunch was ready.
On the way to the restaurant, Vanessa kept finding chances to edge up next to Jessica and chat with her.
With the live camera rolling, Jessica couldn’t just push her away. She had to grit her teeth through the discomfort and give half–hearted replies.
Luckily, the orchard was close to the restaurant, and they arrived in just a few
minutes.
As soon as they walked in, Jessica quickly pulled Brian to a table in the back. She had Brian sit in front of her, using him to block the overly enthusiastic Vanessa.
Without the strong perfume bothering her, Jessica could finally breathe freely.
Dishes started coming out one after another- kebabs with pita, roasted lamb, tacos, and all sorts of other specialties.
Jessica’s appetite picked up at the sight. But just as she was about to pick up her fork, a strong, gamey smell hit her hard, making her feel sick.

“Jessi!” Brian saw her spin around suddenly to throw up and panicked. He turned to the waiter who was bringing over the lamb stew and snapped, “Take that away
now.”
The waiter jumped, quickly turning to leave.
The gamey smell faded, but Jessica couldn’t stop the urge to vomit. She leaned against the table and threw up everything. Brian rubbed her back gently, looking concerned.
Lillian and the others hurried over, too–some handing water while some passing
tissues.
“Is there any lemon water?” Sabrina turned to Raymond. “Ask the restaurant to make a glass. Jessi can rinse her mouth after she’s finished.”
“Right.” Vanessa nodded.
She started to step closer to check on Jessica, but Sabrina stopped her.
“Your perfume’s too strong,” Sabrina said. “Don’t get too close right now, or she’ll feel worse.”
Vanessa froze on the spot.
Sabrina paid her no mind. After saying that, she went back to Brian.
Sabrina said, “Mr. Atkinson, once Jessi’s vomiting calms down, carry her outside to get some fresh air. This afternoon, you really should take her to the hospital for a check–up. She’s almost eight months along, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
“Okay, thanks for the heads–up. I’ll do that soon.” Brian looked up to thank her and turned back to pat Jessica’s back.
