Millie simply smiled, her eyes bright with a sweetness she couldn’t hide.

Liam said, “If anyone doesn’t see anything they like, the menu’s right there—feel free to order more, don’t stand on ceremony.”

Danielle had been swamped all day and honestly didn’t have much of an appetite.

She barely touched her food.

“Is there anything here you’d like? Want to order something else?” Millie noticed and asked gently.

Liam scoffed, “Why bother? She’s not shy—maybe she already ate before showing up.”
