Danielle lifted her gaze slowly, her eyes calm and unfazed as she looked at him. "Do you really think what happened to her today was my doing?"

Once Millie left, the room erupted into even more whispers and murmurs.

Jake was the first to usher people out, and Alexander made no effort to stop them; not a single person spoke up in Millie’s defense.

It couldn’t have been clearer: Millie had thrown herself at Alexander without an ounce of shame.

But Alexander seemed desperate to flaunt his relationship with Millie, as if he couldn’t bear to be apart from her for even a moment.
