Chapter 49
Bambi stood frozen, her young heart reeling from the shock.
Had she done something wrong?
If she had obediently gone back to the Fisher family with her father, Theodore wouldn’t have been hurt.
But the one who had shot an arrow at her was her own brother, someone she had once been so close to. Over time, as their
physical differences grew, Beau’s attitude toward her had worsened.
And she had realized that, within the Fisher family, aside from her mother treating them equally, even her father favored
Beau more.
“Beau! Even if you apologize, I will never forgive you!” Bambi shouted.
She turned to Harvey. “Daddy, can I stop being your daughter? What do I have to do to never go back to the Fisher family
again?”
She longed to break free, but she didn’t know how. Harvey’s face turned as cold as if it had been sealed under layers of frost.
“Bambi! Your last name is Fisher! You will always be my daughter! You are a part of the Fisher family!”
“Then… Then can I change my last name?” Bambi asked hesitantly. “I want to take Mommy’s last name instead.”
A dark shadow loomed over Harvey’s entire figure.
Niamh crossed her arms and sneered. “Elara, what a fine daughter you’ve raised–bold enough to betray the Fisher family and
disown her own father!”
She then turned to the boy clinging to her leg. “Beau, don’t you ever follow Bambi’s example.”
Eiara stepped forward, standing behind Bambi. Her hands rested firmly on her daughter’s shoulders, giving her strength.
Just then, the doors of the operating room swung open, and the doctor wheeled Theodore out on a stretcher. Everyone
instinctively turned to look.
Theodore was shirtless. His broad back muscles were taut, with each contour sharply defined. His posture was relaxed, yet
his waistline was lean and firm, without a single ounce of excess weight.
“Mr. Theodore, are you okay?” Bambi asked as she was deeply worried about him.
Theodore turned his head and smiled at her, his dimples sinking in, making everyone’s hearts soften.
“Who is the patient’s family? I need to go over post–operative care.”
Elara had already informed Tobias about Theodore’s injury, and Tobias was on his way to the hospital.
“Talk to me,” Elara said as she stepped toward the doctor. Theodore had saved Bambi–she owed him a debt.
Harvey’s gaze darkened as he watched Elara’s back. He didn’t even realize how tightly his brows had furrowed.
Theodore was wheeled into his hospital room, and Bambi instinctively wanted to follow. But when Harvey’s cold gaze swept over her, she hesitated and stopped.
“I hope you fully understand what you just said,” Harvey warned.
He then led Beau into the hospital room.
Lying face–down on the hospital bed, Theodore pointed at Harvey. “Give him the bill ”
