Merida wrapped one arm around Paisley and the other around Shirley, lifting both of her best friends as she spun in circles with them.

Seeing the scene unfold, Rosalie shrieked like a startled hen. "Bambi! What are you doing? Put my daughter down right now!"

But her only response was the sound of three girls laughing happily.

Elara worried that Merida might actually toss Shirley and Paisley into the air like shot puts, so she gently patted her daughter's back.

"Go on, head to school now."

Merida set Shirley and Paisley down. The two girls were sweating from excitement, but Merida herself showed no signs of exhaustion—no heavy breathing, no flushed cheeks. Her round, dark eyes locked onto the academic file in Elara's hands.

"My student records were already taken out. Can they be put back in?"

Elara reassured her, "You've changed your name, and Mommy came to school today to officially update your academic records."

She crouched down and spoke seriously to her daughter. "Merida, I know you don't want to leave your friends at Summit Academy, and I support your decision. Other parents might behave better now, but you'll still be in the same class as Beau…"

"Mommy, I won't back down!" Merida's gaze was firm and resolute.

"I'll make Beau understand that I am Merida Jones now! I'm someone he can't bully or look down on!"

Elara's smile was warm and encouraging, like the gentle rain of spring. "Alright!"

This was the path Merida had chosen for herself, and Elara would give her the freedom to fly.

Merida led Paisley and Shirley hand in hand as the three of them skipped happily toward the school building. Elara then turned around and saw Beau standing in the distance, staring at her intently.

The moment he realized she had noticed, he quickly turned his face away.

"Hmph!" He huffed to himself. Elara obviously wanted to make up with him, but he wasn't interested!

"Niamh, bye-bye!" Beau waved at Niamh in farewell.

"Bye, Beau Baby! Your dad and I will pick you up after school."

Beau couldn't hide his delight. Of course, Niamh was the best—only she had the ability to convince his dad to come pick him up! That made her the most powerful person in the world!

Elara had already shifted her attention away. "Mr. White, let me walk you to your car."

She followed Desmond as he headed toward his personal car. There was a faint, unreadable smile on his face.

That brat, Theodore—he really couldn't hide his feelings at all.

Desmond was curious to see how Theodore would handle himself in front of Elara. Elara opened the car door for him, and Desmond glanced inside—only to find it completely empty.

"Mr. White, is something wrong?" Elara noticed his brief hesitation.
