Niamh’s suggestion was tempting, but Beau hesitated. “But if I turn in such a simple project. I’ll never get a star

Beau looked at Niamh as if she were an idiot. “Niamh, do you usually wear fake stuff when you go out?”

Niamh immediately denied it. I never wear fake things!

Beau raised his voice. “If I take those stars you bought to kindergarten, won’t I just get laughed at by the other kids? Only the stars the teacher gives out are real stars! Haven’t you heard of the story called The Emperor’s New Clothes?”

He huffed angrily before saying, “You’re just fooling yourself!

Being reprimanded by a five–year–old left Niamh’s expression a chaotic swirl of embarrassment and frustration. “Fine, fine! I’ll help you finish building the space fortress.”

If Elara could build a space fortress out of plastic straws, there was no way she couldn’t

Ten minutes later, Niamh accidentally crushed the nearly finished space fortress in the midst of Beau’s horrified screams. It was initially already 90% complete.

Beau sat frozen on the floor, completely stunned. “You. You. You ruined my space fortress!” 1

“Beau, it’s not my fault! Your mom’s space fortress was a pile of junk to begin with!”

Tears welled in Beau’s eyes. “My project is due tomorrow! I’m going to find Mommy!

Niamh quickly grabbed him. “Your mom doesn’t want you anymore! She’s not going to help you finish your project

She then scrolled through her contacts on her phone. “Til call a bunch of people to come help. We’ll build a space fortress a thousand times better than the one your mom mader

Niamh started calling her male friends, but none of them were interested in coming to the Fisher residence to help with a kindergarten project

“Build a fortress? Come out for drinks instead! We’ll even bring some ladies over,

Niamh felt tempted. “You’d better not be lying to me! You know I love my sweet ladies!”

After hanging up, Niamh had completely lost interest in the craft project. She was already planning on drinking with her friends until dawn.

She quickly went on Craigslist and spent 200 dollars hiring someone to make the kindergarten craft project.

After paying, she confidently told Beau, “The project is taken care of Don’t worry. you’ll see a magnificent, luxurious space fortress!”

up tomorrow morning.

“Really?” Beau asked, still skeptical

Niamh pulled him into her arms. “When have I ever lied to you?”

Beau still looked unsure “Mommy often stayed up all night just to help me with my projects.” 1

He wasn’t sure if Niamh’s online solution could be trusted

Niamh scoffed “That’s because she’s foolish Spending some money would’ve easily solved it, but she insisted on acting like she was working herself to the bone just to impress you!
