Wesley winced and quietly moved away from her. Her hot and cold attitude was starting to get on his nerves, and he couldn’t help but complain, “You’re really picking up all of Jessica’s bad habits instead of the good ones.”
Jessica, who was busy eating, looked up confused. “Excuse me? This is my house, and you’re eating my barbecue while talking trash about me? Why don’t you two take this outside?”
“I’m not leaving. If anyone’s going, it’s him. Jessica, let’s kick him out together,” Sana said without hesitation.
“Why should I leave? I’m a guest too,” Wesley shot back immediately.
Within moments, the two of them were bickering again. Jessica watched them go at it and felt even more exasperated.
“And Sana told me they’re not a couple? Yeah right, who’s gonna believe that?’ Jessica thought.
The dinner was enjoyable enough, though Wesley spent the second half arguing with Sana and completely forgot his original plan. As they were leaving, he tried to salvage the situation. “Ms. Grant, is Sana free in a couple days? I’d like to return the favor and treat you both.”
“I’m not going,” Sana replied automatically, still caught up in their arguing mood.
Wesley put on a pitiful expression and turned to Jessica. “Ms. Grant, you can’t turn me down too.”
Jessica laughed softly. She didn’t need to be a third wheel between the young couple, and she honestly hadn’t had a chance to catch up with Wesley one-on-one in a while. So she agreed. “Alright, then it’s just the two of us for dinner.”
“Hmph, I’m warning you. You better treat Jessica well, or you’ll answer to me,” Sana huffed threateningly.
Wesley had no choice but to agree with a smile and promise to be on his best behavior. It wasn’t like he could refuse anyway.
The two of them settled on the plan and scheduled their next meeting before heading home.
A few days later, Atkinson Group’s new product had been out for a week and sales had already exceeded three hundred million dollars. As the company’s CEO, Brian was invited to do a live interview.
The interview questions had all been discussed beforehand, and Brian answered them methodically. As they neared the end, he glanced at the cameras that were filming. Since this was a live broadcast, he wondered if Jessica might be watching.
Brian’s mind wandered for a moment, so he didn’t notice when the host suddenly switched topics.
The host said enthusiastically, “I’m sure everyone has heard that Mr. Atkinson isn’t just an outstanding entrepreneur. He’s also an exceptional husband and father
“We understand that Mr. Atkinson’s wife is the heiress of Grant Group, someone who not only excuts in her career but also manages to take wonderful care of her family. By the way, isn’t Mr. Jacob Atkinson starting elementary school this year? Does he wear one of these watches too?”
The host turned the conversation over to Brian
“Huh?” Brian snapped back to attention, realizing what the host was talking about His brows furrowed sharply.

The host was so desperate for ratings that he completely missed the suppressed anger in Brian’s voice and kept rambling on.
“I saw on social media that you gave Mrs. Atkinson a one-of-a-kind watch, Mr. Atkinson,” the host smiled. “I’m sure your little boy has one too, right? So this watch works perfectly as both a couples’ gift and a family set.”
The host beamed, clearly trying to capitalize on Brian and Jessica’s popularity to market the watch.
