Chapter 1960 A Beggar
Cecilia sat watching the footage of Magnus in his pitiful state. She felt absolutely nothing. This was exactly what he deserved.

Most people born into a life like his would've had it made—comfortable, successful, stable. But Magnus had done nothing but stir up trouble with his privilege. He was selfish to the core and never once thought about his family.

Sven turned to her and asked, “Is that enough?”

“It's not enough yet. He needs to go through more, enough to understand what it means to start from zero, to see that making money takes real work,” Cecilia answered firmly.

“Got it.”

After getting kicked out of the hotel, Magnus had nothing left—no phone, no wallet, not even a dime to his name. He was stranded in a strange city, left to wander aimlessly.

Two days later, it was already December, and the temperature had dropped sharply. Magnus didn't even have a coat to fight off the cold.

“It hurts... so bad.”

Grumble...

His stomach growled painfully as he stood outside a restaurant, peeking in longingly. He instinctively reached into his pockets, only to feel the emptiness again.

He lingered near the entrance, the steady flow of customers brushing past him. His loitering soon drew the attention of a waiter, who quickly came out and waved him off.

“Hey, move along! Don't block the door or scare off the customers.”

Magnus snapped, “Do you even know who the f*ck I am?”

“I don't care who you are. You smell like a beggar. What, you think you're some kind of big shot?” the waiter shot back, scowling.

“My sister's a billionaire! And my brother-in-law—”

Before he could finish, the waiter burst out laughing. “Haha! Why not just say your brother's the president while you're at it?”

Magnus' face burned red. “I'm not lying. I—”

“Help... please... someone...”

Every word was frail, each one fainter than the last.

Plenty of pedestrians walked by. Some gave him a quick glance, but most figured he was just another grifter pretending to be down on his luck. Nobody stopped.

Then a gentle voice rang out above him. “Are you okay?”

Magnus forced his heavy eyes open and looked up. A girl stood there, dressed plainly with her hair tied in a ponytail. She was decent-looking and clearly concerned.

“Hungry!” Magnus clutched at her clothes like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline.

Moved by how pitiful he looked, the girl reached into her bag and pulled out some cash. She was about to hand it to him, but suddenly pulled her hand back.

“What if he's a conman?” she wondered aloud.
