Lance slowly opened his eyes and noticed that Tara was looking at him with sleepy eyes. She asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"

He held her and said, "I'm fine. It's still early, so you should rest more."

She lay back on the pillow and fell back to sleep.

Lance looked at her as the morning light shone through the windows. After a long while, he pulled her into his arms, unwilling to let go.

All three dreams he had felt incredibly real, and he could see what he had done to Tara. He couldn't compare to Soren, let alone to Jonah.

Lance never asked Tara how she felt, nor did he ask if she wanted to be with him. He liked her a lot, and he didn't want to let her go. It was selfish of him to want to grow old with her, without knowing if she wanted the same.

At that moment, he felt conflicted. On one hand, he wanted to set her free. On the other hand, he wanted to continue being selfish.

On Anton's birthday, Lance called him and said they weren't returning to the Swain Manor. Lance even canceled all of his plans for the day so that Shawn wouldn't have any opportunities.

Slowly, two months passed. Lance looked at Tara, and it felt like she was trapped in a cage. Although she could go wherever and do whatever she wanted, she only smiled brightly when she was watering the plants.

He looked at her for a long time before saying that he would move to a villa nearby. He told her that she would feel more at ease if she stayed there. Tara didn't have any issues with it as she was fine with wherever she stayed.

Half a month passed, and Lance carried Tara out of the swimming pool in the villa. She was startled when it happened.

She looked around them with a cautious gaze, saying that it would be bad if someone saw them being so intimate. He kissed her and said, "We're the only ones here in the villa. Who could possibly see us?"

That night, he suddenly asked, "If you had a chance to choose between leaving me or staying with me, which would you go for?"

She looked back at him for a long time before finally saying, "You have been great to me, but I prefer to be free."

Lance already knew what her answer would be, but he still said nothing about it. That night, he held her tight in his embrace the entire time.

The next day, he said, "I've transferred 100 million dollars into your account, and you can have this villa along with the land near your hometown."
