Rebecca woke up to her housekeeper's announcement, "Mr. Francis is already here."

It had been arranged that Francis would take her for an eye check-up today.

With a little help, Rebecca made her way to the living room and greeted him with a reserved smile, "Good morning, Mr. Francis."

Francis just nodded slightly as he made himself comfortable on the couch, barely acknowledging her.

Rebecca thought, "Not this again... What do I do now? Maybe I should start a conversation?"

Right when she was feeling like a fish out of water, Sherilyn arrived.

"Sherilyn!" Rebecca felt a wave of relief wash over her.

"Hey, Rebecca," Sherilyn walked briskly towards her, linking arms. "Sorry, couldn't make it last night."

"It's alright," Rebecca reassured her, glancing towards the couch. "Thankfully, Mr. Francis took care of everything."

"Yeah." Sherilyn smiled at Francis. "Francis, sorry for the trouble again."

"Nothing." Francis' response was as brief as ever.

He stood up and headed out, signaling Sherilyn to follow.

"Sherilyn..." Rebecca whispered anxiously, "Do you think Mr. Francis is upset with me?"

"Why would you think that?" Sherilyn whispered back, glancing at Francis' retreating figure.

"Well..." Rebecca's eyes widened, "Since waking up yesterday, I've been the only one talking. He hasn't said anything back to me... Well, except for 'mm-hmm.' Does he find me annoying? I know I've been a handful."

"That's great news," Sherilyn shared in her joy.

The doctor glanced at Francis, "Mr. Johnson, the schedule is pretty tight. It's hard to fit in new patients."

Francis, always the gentleman, replied, "Let's schedule her for the first slot in two months. Of course, if anything comes up sooner, we'll take it. Is that okay?"

Agreeing to wait, they appreciated Francis' gentle approach.

Leaving the hospital, Rebecca genuinely thanked Francis, "Mr. Francis, I can't thank you enough."

He glanced at her, "Mm."

Rebecca pouted slightly, squeezing Sherilyn's hand, whispering, "See?"
