Thursday,The usual family dinner night at the Harris household.It's kind of a thing we do once or twice a week so we still get to spend quality time together. My Mom is the cook of the family-and the rest of us devour everything she puts on the table.

I had taken a half day at work today with plans of a quick dinner before meeting Carmen for some late night shopping. She's adamant that I get a new dress for the Christmas party that's tomorrow night.

I don't want to go!!

"Jamie-Dinner!!"My Mom called from the kitchen.

I covered the phone with my hand so Ryan couldn't hear on the other end."I'll be right there."I got back to my phone call.Hiding in the hallway like a teenager."Sorry,Ryan-What were you saying?"

"Well I was hoping you were free for a second date tomorrow night? I've been thinking about you,Jamie."He chuckled.

He's been thinking about me-So sweet!

I chuckled,shyly."I've been thinking about you too. I've a work Christmas party tomorrow night-But I could do Saturday?"

"I'll see you Saturday then.I'll text you a time and I'll come pick you up."His tone with light and sweet,like he was really keen about me.He seems like the type of man that's very laid back and up for anything.

"Bye,Ryan!"I lips curved into a huge smile after hanging up the phone. So I have another date!! This thing with Ryan might actually go somewhere. I'm probably getting too ahead of myself-But I see quite a few dates to come.

I was seated at the dinner table and in front of me was a big spread of Julia's homemade food. Vegetarian for me of course. I spooned some food onto my plate the smell of herbs and garlic was wafting through the air."This smells amazing,Mom."

"Well you know your Mother-She's been in here cooking all day. There's even a homemade cheesecake in the fridge."My Dad shovelled some food into his mouth.

A cheesecake-My Mom never makes a cheesecake. It's been anything but Cheesecake in this house."You've never made a cheesecake,Mom. What kind is it, Chocolate I hope?"

"Strawberry.I never make it because no one eats it but me-I just wanted a change."My Mom spooned some more food onto my plate,just like she always does when I come over for dinner."You need to eat more-You're too skinny."

"Men like a little meat on a woman's bones,Sweetheart."My Dad said,as he glanced in my direction.

Jesus Christ!! Kill me now!

The front door opened suddenly saving me from anymore embarrassment from my parents."Hellooo!!"My Brother Jake shouted as he made his way down the hallway.

Jake followed in my Father's footsteps and became the other Lawyer of the family. My Mom had hopes of me being a wife that stays at home and looks after the kids-Just like her. But I leaned more towards English Literature.

Jake walked into the kitchen with a scowl on his face."You lot started dinner without me-How rude!!"He smirked,and sat down at the table knowing damn well that my Mom would fetch his plate and have his food dished up in front of him.

"I made you a plate,sweetheart.You look like you've had a long day."My Mom was straight to the kitchen and grabbing his meal that she had already dished up and wrapped in tinfoil for him.

"I'm drained,it's just been on of those weeks."My brother sighed,milking it big time."At least tomorrow is Friday."

Amen to that!!

My Mom placed Jake's plate down in front of him and sat down to continue eating her own."So,Jamie-How was your date with Ryan?"

Hmm,She already knows how my date with Ryan went. She called me late on Friday night to find out. But I know my Mom-She wants to hear every little detail in person.

"Um,Ryan brought me to the Bradford It was nice. We're going out again on Saturday."That's about all I'm saying about it-I'm not giving that brother of mine the fuel to tease me.

"Sounds like this Ryan was trying to wine and dine his way into your pants."My brother chuckled."That's just how men think,Jamie."

I shrugged my shoulders,trying not to pay him any notice."Maybe that's the way you think!!"

Jake clicked his tongue off the roof of his mouth in annoyance."You're surely not that naive,Jamie. You know what men can be like-Remember that sleazy old Boss of yours?"

Her eyes lit up."Office Bitch Jen-That's her.You need to show up to this party looking hot as fuck and put that whore in her place."Without any further discussion,Carmen dragged me into the store and we started to browse.There's no point in saying no to her,she won't accept it anyway.

I picked up a dress on a hanger"At least they're not all so revealing."

Carmen held up a cute little costume. "Oh this.."She held up another."Oh,Try this on too."

I took the costumes from her hand. "Alright,I'll humour you and try them on."I walked to a dressing room in the back of the store and pulled the fabric curtain over for some privacy.I changed into the costume. A sexy little dress with a white fur trim and a matching Hat.

When I walked out of the dressing room-I was greeted with a squeal of approval from Carmen.It's a Christmas party so I know that some people might be in dress up-but I still felt a little uncomfortable about it.

Carmen clapped her hands together. "Yes,That's like Mega Hot!!You should definitely wear that."

"I don't know."I crossed the room towards the window where the floor length mirror was placed in the corner.I looked at myself,surprised that the costume looked as good as it did.

Carmen was right..I did look kinda hot!!

I glanced out the window as the sudden fall of snow caught my eye, that's when I saw him walking past.Mr Fucking Knight,what the hell are the chances of seeing him. It's a little weird!!

Mr Knight glanced in my direction and did a double take when he saw me in the window. He was stood a few foot away in his button down coat that had the collar turned up like it usually was. I didn't know what to do so I gave him a small wave to be polite.

He winked at me-Actually winked at me-before going on his way. What the hell is going on?

Carmen walked towards me,holding a pair of 6inch stilettos in her hands. "Who were you waving at?"

"No one at all."I turned away from the window and looked at the heels."Are you trying to kill me with those?Let's pay up and get out of here-I'm in need of a drink."
