"You're so nice," Esther said, reaching out to gently pinch his nose.

Darius tilted his head up, beaming. "Of course. I want to keep everyone safe."

"Where did you learn to be such a hero?"

Darius scratched his head, puzzled. "Ultraman, I guess."

Esther couldn't help but laugh.

Later, Pearl took Esther and Darius out to eat. However, it was Finnegan who showed up to drive Esther home.

"It's been a while," Finnegan greeted with a smile, taking Esther's bag.

"Indeed. Are you two back together?" Pearl responded.

"No, we're not. We're just hanging out," Esther quickly explained, blushing.

"Do you like him?" Pearl was skeptical about Esther moving on so quickly since Esther had been deeply in love with James for a long time.

"It's my dad's idea," Esther whispered to her.

Pearl gave her a knowing smile. "Alright then. I'll head out with Darius now."

"Need a ride home?" Finnegan offered politely.

As they walked, Finnegan asked, "Do you still have feelings for him?"

Esther was caught off guard by the question and hesitated.

"You can tell me. It's okay."

After a moment, she lowered her head and shook it. "No, I've moved on a long time ago."

It was obviously a lie. Finnegan chuckled softly, his heart aching a little. "You know the truth, so don't lie to yourself."
