"Sorry, I was thinking" I answered, rolling my eyes.
"Why are you up? You have school tomorrow" she said, as she sat in a stool.
"I don't know, I can't go to sleep... Mother, can I ask you a question?"
"Yes honey, you can ask me anything"
"How did you feel when father passed away?"
Her smile faded away and it was replaced with a frown, tears started to fill her eyes and she started to cry.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to" I said playing with my fingers, I could feel my chest tighten.
"No, it's okay" she wiped away her tear and took a deep breath "I was broken, I didn't know where to go? Your father was everything to me, he was my life, my mate, my lover" she cried harder, I walked up to her and hugged her tight, I hate it when my mother cries.
"Everybody died in our pack, we were the only ones alive, thanks to your father, I didn't know what to do, you were really small, you didn't even know how to walk" she smiled.
"I carried you and we went hunting for a pack, lots of packs thought that we were rogers, and they will attack us but eventually they will find out that we are just searching for a pack, after days of searching we finally found a pack, and they accepted us"
"How are you so strong, lots people die when they find out that there mates die?" I asked
"Before your father died he told me to be strong, and take good care of you and never let anything take me down and those words are the only words that are keeping me alive"
"Wow... Why didn't you tell me these thing before?"
"Because you never asked me" she laughed.
"Come on, let's go back to sleep" she said and got up.
"Mother, I can't go to sleep, I know I'm tired but I just can't go to sleep"
She started to chuckle and I looked at her confused, why is my mother laughing?
"Mother, what is wrong?" I ask
"Nothing, I just knew this is going to happen to you"
"Really?"
"Yeah, the same thing happened to me when your father died"
"So... What did you do?"
"Well, I used to hug one of his shirts that used to smell like him and it used to make me all fuzzy and warm inside and I will fall asleep, but I don't hug them anymore, it's like my soul go used to it" she said with a sigh.
I don't have anything that belongs to max, how can I sleep?, I'm never going to get any sleep, I'm going to die.
"I know ted, I know that max regrets rejecting you" she said, giving me a warm smile.
"But we are not going back or are we" I said with a yawn.
"No, we are not going back only if you wanted to"
"No, I want to stay here" I yawned once again.
"Come on, let's go to sleep"
I nod and once again said goodnight to my mother as I dragged my feet upstairs.
I threw myself on my bed, I could feel my eyelids get heavier and heavier, I hug maxs shirt tighter, god it smelt so good, then I notice it's maxs favourite shirt, how did my mother cover this? I will ask her later.
I close me eyes and drifted off to sleep still hugging maxs shirt.
Max's POV
My days are getting worse and worse, every day is hell to me, I don't even remember the last time I smiled, I don't know what is happening to me, I haven't been sleeping and it's driving me cuckoo.
My favourite shirt has been missing, I asked several servants if they have seen it but all they say is 'no' I finally gave up and decided to go to the shops.
As I was on my way to the front door I stopped, maybe it's in the washing machine but the servants say they have looked there, I sigh and went to the place where the washing machines are I opened the washing machine but nothing was in it, it looks like I'm going to the mall, god I hate shopping it's the worst thing in life.
