By the time Sydney reached the clinic entrance, Peter had already pulled the car around.

The moment he saw her, he jumped out, hurried over, and opened the door with a grin. "Miss, I figured you'd be out about now."

"But I need to stop by Jeremiah's place first." She explained, "He called this morning and said he wasn't feeling well. I'm worried his condition might have worsened."

Even after treatment, a patient's condition could change at any time, depending on how they lived.

Julian's brows drew together. "I'm going with you."

That eased Sydney further. With Peter there, she had not been worried to begin with. With Julian beside her, it felt as if nothing could go wrong.

Still, she had assumed that now Julian suspected Jeremiah, he would limit her contact with him.
