Queena?
Anastasia’s eyes darkened.
“When do we leave?”
“This afternoon. Make sure you’re prepared.”
He then informed her of the mission's subject. As expected, it was Marlon's wife.
Anastasia's eyes narrowed. What was Queena up to this time?
Suddenly, she remembered something and stopped the person who was about to leave. “Is Yves going too?”
“Yes. Technically he’s not an official student yet, and someone suggested he be moved down the list, but Queena spoke up for him, so the administration approved his participation.”
A suspicion formed in Anastasia’s mind. “I understand. Thank you.”
Afterward, she immediately called Harrison.
“Can you give me Marlon’s contact information? There’s something I need to talk to him about.”
Marlon was a man in his forties or fifties, so Harrison wasn’t worried about anything. He didn’t ask questions and sent her the number right away.
Anastasia contacted Marlon. “Mr. Clark, could you do me a favor?”
Anastasia had moved quickly, sending half of the medicinal herbs to the Clark family that very morning. Marlon was now incredibly grateful to her, and even more so after learning of her relationship with Harrison. He wouldn't dare to be disrespectful.
He quickly replied, “Anything.”
…
That afternoon, led by Queena, the group arrived at the Clark family home.
He saw Anastasia, and they exchanged a brief glance but didn’t speak, pretending not to know each other.
This was what Anastasia had requested. Marlon didn't know what she was planning, but he had agreed to cooperate.
The group entered the Clark residence. After minimal pleasantries, they headed directly to Mrs. Clark’s bedroom.
Queena found this odd. “Mr. Clark,” she suggested, “there are quite a few of us. Isn’t it a bit inconvenient to go to the bedroom? Why not have the patient come out to the living room?”
Marlon sighed. “She’s feeling very unwell and doesn’t want to move. I’m afraid I’ll have to trouble you all to take a few extra steps.”
When they entered the room, they encountered an even stranger sight. Thick curtains were drawn completely around Mrs. Clark’s bed.
Mrs. Clark was lying on the bed, completely obscured from view. Not even a shadow of her could be seen.
Everyone was surprised, but out of politeness, no one dared to ask questions.
