Chapter 114 Treating Mr. Robert

“And your teacher is…?” one of the men in the room asked, his voice filled with genuine curiosity.

Lilian replied with calm assurance, “I’m sorry, but he prefers to keep his name private.”

Before Lilian had even arrived at Solara, Leonard had made his wishes clear: under no circumstances was she to reveal his identity. He was fiercely protective of his privacy, unwilling to let anyone know where he lived or that he had emerged from seclusion. Lilian had no choice but to respect that boundary.

Noticing her composed demeanor, no one pressed her further. Yet, it was impossible to ignore the maturity and poise she carried—qualities far beyond her years.

Lambert let out a soft chuckle. “Did Mr. Austin tell you about my father’s condition?”

Lilian shook her head gently. “I don’t accept secondhand information as fact. Until I feel the pulse myself, everything else is just speculation—not reliable enough to base decisions on.”

Her confident words caught Lambert off guard for a moment. Then, a genuine laugh escaped him. “You really do speak like one of the old masters. Quite impressive.”

With that, he led her upstairs to the second floor, opening the door to a bedroom. Tania and a few others followed closely behind.

Inside, the atmosphere was heavy.

An elderly man lay stretched out on a broad bed. His eyes were sunken deep into their sockets, his skin pallid and fragile-looking. An oxygen mask covered his face, and his breathing was faint, shallow—almost ghostly. He appeared utterly lifeless. A cluster of medical machines stood silently at his side, their screens displaying steady but grim numbers. Without those readings, it would have been hard to believe he was still alive.

Several doctors dressed in white coats hovered nearby, accompanied by a few nurses. One of the doctors, his hair silver and eyes sharp, scanned a medical report carefully.

As Lilian stepped into the room, the ongoing conversation abruptly stopped. All eyes turned to her, surprise evident in their expressions.

Jorge studied the young girl with serious interest. So this was the “miracle worker” who had healed Mr. Austin’s granddaughter? He couldn’t deny the shock that rippled through him.

She was so much younger than anyone had imagined—almost shockingly so.

Lilian caught their stunned expressions and smiled faintly. “What? Don’t I look the part?”

Without hesitation, she stepped forward to the bedside and gave Mr. Robert a quick examination, then placed two fingers lightly on his wrist.

In truth, she didn’t even need to check his pulse. With her unique ability, a single glance revealed everything she needed to know.

Cerebral vascular degeneration. Multiple organs in the final stages of failure. Blood flow to the brain was critically low, and most functional areas were deteriorating rapidly.

To put it bluntly—by modern medical standards, he was beyond help. All anyone could do was keep him comfortable, lying here, waiting for the inevitable.

Lilian’s eyes softened as she looked at the frail man. She knew the road ahead was grim, but she refused to give up hope just yet.
