Lilian stepped out of the bathroom, her skin still damp and glistening from the recent shower. The warm steam clung to the air, wrapping the room in a soft haze. She was surprised to see someone sitting at her desk, casually flipping through one of her medical textbooks. Her brows knitted together in irritation as she took in the unexpected sight.

“Sebastian, what are you doing in my room?” Her voice carried a sharp edge, frustration clear in her tone.

Sebastian looked up from the book, meeting her gaze. Lilian was dressed in a cozy pink coral fleece pajama set that made her look incredibly endearing. The faint scent she always wore filled the room, mingling with the warmth still lingering from the shower. Her damp hair rested lightly on her shoulders, and the flush on her cheeks from the steam made her delicate features appear even softer than usual.

She turned to leave, intending to put some distance between them, but just as she passed by, Sebastian’s hand shot out and grasped her wrist firmly. Before she could react, he pulled her gently yet insistently into a warm embrace.

Lilian struggled, trying to free herself from his hold. Her voice turned cold and sharp. “Let go of me, Sebastian. Do you hear me? Let go.”

Resting his chin lightly on her shoulder, Sebastian’s voice dropped to a low, husky murmur, like the soft hum of a cello. “Lilian, if you’re about to sentence me to death, shouldn’t I at least know why?”

She scoffed, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. “Hmph. You have so many women clinging to you all the time. Why would you even care about me?”

Sebastian’s brow furrowed in genuine confusion. “Women? What women?”

Lilian huffed, pulling at his arm in an attempt to break free.

But instead of loosening his grip, Sebastian drew her closer. “Lilian, the only person around me is Foster. There’s no woman.”

His eyes held a firm, unwavering resolve that made it hard for her to look back at him. She turned her face away, unwilling to meet his steady gaze.

In the days that had passed, her anger had mostly cooled. Thinking it over, she realized it was possible she had been mistaken. Yet, whoever that person was, they had to be someone close to him. But who?

Sebastian reached out, gently turning her to face him. His eyes locked with hers, serious and solemn. “Lilian, I’m not a perfect man. But with you, I’ve always been honest.”

When she finished, Sebastian’s expression was a mixture of anger and amusement.

He never expected that she would have the nerve to answer his phone—and then delete the call history too. His brow furrowed deeply, a cold glint flashing through his eyes.

Then, without a word, he pulled Lilian gently into his arms and spoke softly, “Lilian, I’m actually glad… because it means you care about me. You were jealous. But you can’t shut me out and jump to conclusions like that. Life is long. I want us to be the ones who trust each other above all else.”

For a moment, Lilian remained silent, absorbing his words. Then, suddenly, she pushed him away, a mix of embarrassment and frustration coloring her face. “Jealous? You’re jealous! Your whole family is jealous!”

Without another word, she stormed out of the room.

Sebastian watched her retreat, the smile in his eyes deepening, full of quiet amusement and affection.
