“You play the violin?” Merrick asked bluntly.

Lillian gave a casual nod. “Mr. Eric is exaggerating. I just played on a whim; I can’t compare to professionals. I only learned a little as a child, from my mother.”

“Your mother plays the violin?” Merrick pressed.

Lillian nodded again. “That’s right; my mother was quite accomplished in that area.”

Her background wasn’t exactly a secret in high society anymore. The Sinclair family’s recent scandal had become common knowledge, and everyone knew she was Catherine’s daughter.

Merrick looked at Lillian, clearly stirred, though he forced himself to stay composed. Smiling, he said, “I hope I can hear you play sometime.”

Lillian didn’t refuse. “Sure; another day, definitely.”

Since tonight was Million Corp’s anniversary celebration, Joah walked onto the stage, smiling at the crowd. “Thank you all so much for being here to celebrate Million Corp’s anniversary.
