Lilian’s hand tightened in her coat pocket. She took a deep breath. “What difference does remembering make? And what difference does forgetting make? After all that’s happened, do you truly believe we can bury the hatchet and pretend nothing occurred?”

Morgan sank back into the chair, his expression sorrowful. “This is a sin! It’s all my fault! Why was I so utterly obsessed with forcing Henry to marry Catherine back then? If it weren’t for my stubborn insistence, none of this would have happened.”

Lilian said coldly, “There is no ‘if‘ in this world, and talking about it now is pointless. Please take care of yourself.” With that, she turned and walked out.

As she opened the door, she saw Henry leaning against the wall near the study door, smoking a cigarette, looking forlorn. Seeing Lilian emerge, he quickly tossed the cigarette butt away, his expression strained. “Are you finished talking?”

Lilian’s expression was cold. “Yes, we finished. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now.” She walked toward the stairs.

Henry chased after her a few steps. “Do you really intend for you and the Sinclair family to go your separate ways from now on?”

Lilian stopped, looked at Henry, and said coldly, “Do you honestly think there’s any room for reconciliation now? The moment you accepted those shares, the moment Vivian scattered my mother’s ashes–everything disappeared.” She then left the Sinclair family residence.

As she reached the gate, she turned back and took one last look at the villa that had given her a lifetime of sorrow. She likely wouldn’t return here in this life.

Gray handed over a document. “Following your instructions, we’ve found the information. Just as you suspected, that Lilian is indeed Leonard’s apprentice.”

“Oh?” George took the document and looked at the contents, a cold smirk on his face. “This is interesting. How did you find out?”

Gray said proudly, “This is all thanks to Leonard’s daughter. That woman has been boasting everywhere, telling people Lilian is her father’s apprentice, which is how we found out.”

George’s eyes showed a mocking smile. “Leonard is upright and incorruptible, a man of integrity, but what a pity that his children were so cowardly and selfish. It’s safe to say his life was ruined by them.”

“What should we do next?” Gray asked.

George’s smile turned sinister. “Twenty years ago, Leonard refused to yield. I refuse to believe his pride is still that stiff twenty years later. I want to force him to watch as I make his apprentice work for me. Then, I will strip away and crush every bit of his stubborn pride to repay the humiliation he inflicted on me years ago.”

Gray hesitated. “But we still haven’t located that man Leonard’s secluded residence.”
