"Wow, my friend, you've got a lot to work out and solve. Does Rebecca know all this?"

"That's exactly the problem, that she knows and she's very confused," I said, thinking about her and the fact that she might already be back in the room. I raised my eyes and convinced myself that she was.

"Well then, my advice, go to her and explain. Explain until she understands and joins you."

Those were Declan's last words. I watched him as he walked back to his hotel room. Maybe he was right.

Finally, I went to my suite. I really needed a shower. It wasn't hard to get it ready; it was hard to get in it and remember what happened last time in my house, in my bathroom. My muscles tensed, thinking about how close we had come. Every kiss, every touch, and every whisper were sending shivers through my body.

I was trying so damn hard to keep a clear head, but all I could do was imagine her with me, caressing her, tracing lines of fire and untamed passion along her every curve. I realized I was having trouble taking a simple shower. The plan was to wash up and go to bed. I got hardened just thinking about her. I growled through my teeth and slammed my fist against the glass shower wall in an act of desperation. Everything vibrated under my hit, but honestly, I couldn't care less. Definitely I was going out of my mind. Just had to leave the room immediately to get some air, or I was going mad.

FOREPLAY

Rebecca's story

I flinched at that noise. It sounded like someone had broken a window or something. I heard it so close to me I got scared. Who could have been near my apartment? Whoever it was, must have been very upset about something. But I would not consider other people's nerves. I had mine, and they were enough.

I inhaled greedily, filling my lungs with the scent of flowers from the garden in front of my balcony. Maybe the silence of the night could help me relax. I raised my eyes above me, admiring the stars filling the dark sky, until little noises caught my attention.

As soon as I lowered my gaze, a sight I never thought I would see so late at night, not in my wildest dreams. Dominic was in the front garden at this hour talking on the phone. The question wasn't who he was talking with, but what he was doing out at this time of night?

I watched him for a while. He seemed so caught up in the conversation he was having. Every now and then, he'd run his hand through his hair as if he was nervous about something. He wasn't shouting into the phone. It was so quiet I could hear his breathing. And maybe he could hear mine too if he was facing me. For now, he was facing a palm tree, then sat down on the bench next to it. His gestures were so natural and yet so sensual. I could have watched him all night long.

I leaned my elbows on the balcony rail and stayed there for a few minutes, admiring him. Every movement, every flex of his muscles, every gesture of his hands, everything took me back in time. The moment he was next to me. To that exact moment when time stood still, when space was undefined and only the two of us were breathing for each other.
