Jerome snapped out of his daze and immediately rejected the idea.

He simply didn't have the time to date right now, nor did he have any intention to.

But hearing him guess Kimberley's name on the first try, she decided not to rush it.

Lizetta let out a dramatic sigh. "I don't know what kind of illness Kimberley has, but she's hospitalized. Her complexion looks awful. However, she seems to have a suitor—a very handsome, elegant, and imposing guy. He shows up every single day with a bouquet of flowers to dote on her. I've bumped into him several times myself. From what I can tell, Kimberley is very patient with him. They're always talking and laughing. If you really have feelings for her, you better hurry up. Otherwise, you might actually lose your chance."

After finishing her spiel, Lizetta held her breath, listening intently for any reaction from Jerome's end.

Just as she suspected, Jerome's breathing hitched, and she thought she heard a faint, suppressed scoff.

She turned her head, unable to hold back a grin.

She just wanted to see how long Jerome could hold out.

Meanwhile, standing by the hospital bed, Remington had already coaxed Joy awake. Meeting Lizetta's gaze, he arched an eyebrow, as if silently calling her out for being so mischievous and teasing Jerome with fabricated stories.

Lizetta shot him a sly wink and tapped the speakerphone button.

Jerome's clear, soothing voice echoed appropriately through the hospital room.

"I just saw her two days ago at a hospital in Tranquil Meadows. She looked perfectly fine. Are you entirely sure she's hospitalized?"

Lizetta froze, genuinely caught off guard. She had no idea Jerome had crossed paths with Kimberley so recently.
