Anna felt something tickling her brows and she couldn't help but furrow it. She heard a muffled chuckle and frowned. The tickling came again and she groaned, this time she heard a stifled laughter and couldn't help but open her eyes. She stared deeply at a pair of amused blue eyes, she wanted to complain but then remembering his fever, she jumped up to feel his forehead.

He just lay there staring at her with a sweet smile and letting her feel his temperature. Anna sighed when she noticed that his body was just warm. She looked into his eyes and she could see that his smile reached there, his smile and something else, something she couldn't name.

"How did you turn in my arms?" She asked noticing that he has changed their posture and was facing her instead.

"Do I need to remind you how deep a sleeper you are?" He smiled.

"You gave me quite a scare" she smiled back to him, referring to his fever.

"I'm sorry about that" he apologized.

"It's okay" she looked around and could see daylight seeping in through the door "we need to get back" she looked at him "you need some medication."

He nodded "I know" he sighed "but what are you going to wear?" He asked pointing at her soaked top that was lying beside him.

"I will manage it, we just need to get home and I will change out of it."

He nodded and tried to get up and she helped him "strange" she commented when they were already up.

"What?" He asked looking at her.

"Dad hasn't called you, neither mom. I didn't come out with my own phone, so I was not expecting their calls, but you, nothing."

Jason stared at her and then winced "fuck."

Her brows furrowed "what?"

He reached into his pocket only to bring out his phone "I totally forgot about it" he answered as he tried to turn on the phone but it refused to turn on. He cursed as he opened the back to remove the battery, there was traces of water in the phone and he cursed again "how did I forget this?"

"Just leave it like this to air out when we get home" she suggested and he nodded.

"I just hope it still works. Maybe if it happen to be sunny today, I will just leave it in my window. We need to get to school you know?"

"We need to pass mom and dad first and you need to take your medicine."

He chuckled "I almost forgot we have fire brewing at home."

She chuckled before leaving to change into her clothes. Jason returned the curtain to the room, when he came back, Anna handed him his shirt and he put it on. They took the books and left the church.

When they got home, they saw their parents standing at the porch looking everywhere to find them "we are in trouble" Jason commented.

"Yes we are" Anna agreed as they made their way to the house. Their parents saw them and Veronica already walked down the porch to meet them "good morning mom."

"Where were you too?" She demanded. Their father already walked up to them too.

"We are sorry mom" Jason apologized.

"Sorry? Did you say sorry Jason? Look at you. You are her elder and you did this? I never expected this from you!" Veronica shouted.

"I'm sorry" he repeated.

"I'm sorry" she apologized.

He chuckled "for what? I can't even make it to school today and not just because I'm grounded, but because I'm sick, have you forgotten?" He smiled "now, go get ready for school. You are already running late."

Anna swallowed before heaving a sigh, she nodded and they both walked into the house.

Just walked into his room minutes later, he lay on the bed and wrapped himself in his blanket, his fever was coming back already and he feels so weak. He closed his eyes, trying to catch some sleep when his door was pushed open. He opened his eyes to see his mom standing at the door with her hands folded on her chest "you are sick, aren't you?" She asked.

He let out a hot sigh before slowly nodding "you know how your body reacts to the rain and yet you went inside the rain? Just how could you behave like this?" She asked.

"I'm sorry mom" he repeated and Veronica shook her head before walking closer to him.

"You are allowed to go to school tomorrow but you are still grounded. I can't stop you from going to school, knowing how much you love school, so you are to go to school and return home, no partying, no games, understand?"

"Yes mom."

She sighed and touched his forehead "you are really burning. I will go get you some medicine" she good up and turned to leave.

"What about Anna?" Jason asked.

She turned to look at him "she already left for school."

He nodded as an answer and she smiled faintly to him before leaving the room. She returned later with his breakfast and medicine, she fed him his breakfast but he doesn't have an appetite and so ate little. He took his medicine and she placed a cold towel on his forehead. She stayed with him until he fell asleep before she left the room.
