The music ended and they all returned to their table. The MC, which happened to be the school president opened the time to vote for the prom queen and king. The paper that contains the name of the students was distributed and everybody buried their head to the paper while trying to make their choice. Anna sighed when she saw her brother name and ticked it without thinking twice, she then paused, thinking of who to choose to be his queen, her hand hovered above her name for some seconds before finally ticking Melody White.

Jason on the other hand ticked his name and secretly tick that of his sister before folding the paper quickly when Courtney tried to see who he chose as his queen. She looked at him suspiciously and he offered her his killer smile. Mercy and her friends walked around with the boxes and collected the papers again. The party continued again while they wait for the final score.

"Dance with me sis" Jason finally said the words hanging at the tip of his tongue and he couldn't conceal the joy he felt when her eyes brightened and she nodded almost immediately. She hadn't accepted that fast when Josh asked her and she had turned down Tom, James and Pierce when they asked her. The joy of still being her number one left him smiling sheepishly without his control.

They made their way to the dancefloor smiling to each other and if someone is to look closely and observe, they will find out that the two of them haven't looked as happy as they are now with each other since they entered the hall. Their hearts really know when they are together. Jason wrapped his two hands on her waist while hers wrapped on his neck, his forehead was touching hers and they swirled on the floor. A stranger walking into the hall will really believe them to be a striking couple.

Jason took his time to savor the feeling of having her in his arms again, it's been so long he held her like this. After the night they spent in the church due to the rain, he hasn't been opportune to have her in his arms again. Anna on the other hand, tried her best to breathe in his scent to her full. His hands that was hugging her waist feels like a burning heat trying to consume her whole being which she love and will gladly let herself to be burned by it.

She tried to hug him tightly but was afraid of giving her inner feelings away, the urge of lifting her lips to meet his was heart shattering but she was still able to endure. The music ended and they both walked back to the table, cursing the music for ending so fast. The MC then announced the queen and king. Jason was the prom king and Melody, his queen.

They both walked to the stage smiling but Jason wished it had been his sister. They received their crowns and Melody was handed a banquet of flowers. They turned to face the audience smiling before finally making their way to the dancefloor.

The rest of the evening went smoothly and Jason was on his way to drop Courtney. He pulled over in front of her house and heard her sigh "prom is finally over" she commented.

"Yea. It was fun though" he answered.

"Yea" she smiled and turned to face him. Jason swallowed when he felt her stare and knew something is coming, and he doubts if he will like it "so, what will you be going home to do now?"

He bit his lip, he knew it "to sleep. I'm supposed to be tired after all those dance, aren't I?"

"I heard Tom and the rest will be going to the hotel, any chance know if Josh will be taking Anna?"

"He wouldn't dare" he replied right before she finished talking.

Courtney smiled "why are you like this, overprotective of her? She is old enough to know what she wants."

"She is just fifteen" he gritted his teeth "I won't have him doing anything with her. She is still an underage" he added to cover up his true reason.

"Then why about you? Are you still underage?"

"Of course, I will be fully eighteen next month, so now, I still am."

Courtney sighed and look out the window "don't you like me Jason?"

He creased his brows "why will you ask that?"

"You picked me up today and I was with you through out the evening except for when you sat on your throne but not once did you compliment on my appearance today" she looked at him "all your friend's did, but not you, why?'

Jason bit his lips and thought of a way to answer her without hurting her feelings but there was absolutely no suitable way "I'm sorry" was all he could say.

Courtney chuckled lightly and looked away from him "you complimented Anna immediately you saw her" she paused and looked at him again "tell me Jason, are you in love with your sister?"

"Can you hurry up please?" Megan pressed.

His brow creased "is there anything else?"

"That's what she asked me to say, maybe you will ask her when you get here" she answered.

"Okay then" he replied and hung up. He got up and arranged his bed, picked up his gamepad and placed it near the game. He got his wallet and his wristwatch before leaving the room, he will love to be back before Anna does, at least he will get to spend time with her before their mom gets back, that's if she will today, he thought before walking downstairs and out through the door. He thought about walking there but decided to take a cab, the faster he gets there, the earlier he comes back.

Getting to the house, he ranged the bell and Megan opened it seconds after "hey" she said.

"Hey. Where is she?" He asked when he got into the house.

"In her room. You can go meet her there" she replied before walking to sit on the sofa. Jason had a bad feeling about this but then he thought, what can two fragile girls actually do to him? He went up the stairs and got to Courtney's room, he turned the door knob and pushed the door open, walked in but only to meet a sight he never expected. Courtney was on the bed topless, kissing another guy who is also shirtless. They both looked up when the door opened and shock covered her eyes.

The guy she was with turned out to be Cash who smirked at him when he saw him. Jason stood staring at both of them, well, that happened, he thought. He had actually been wanting a reason to get out of the relationship and now, a perfect reason just presented itself "Jason" Courtney called, she licked her lips, thinking of what to say but there is nothing to say. Jason turned and walked out of the room but not without noticing the smile hanging on Cash's lips. Does that idiot think he is hurt? He should think again, besides he needs to thank him actually, he thought as he walked down the stairs.

Megan shot to her feet when she saw him coming down the stairs "hey" she called and reached to him. Jason looked at her and wondered why does he feel like Megan called him here on purpose? Well, whichever it is, he is grateful.

"I'm fine" he replied and walked out the door. Megan followed him, calling to him but he didn't answer. Jason couldn't believe that he is now a free man, damn, he is not trying that thing again he thought. This calls for a celebration, he thought as he walked into a supermarket, he bought a carton of can beers and walked home happily. When he got to their house, he was glad that Anna was not back yet. He went straight to his room and settled on floor with the carton of beers in front of him, he is really going to drink to celebrate his freedom, he thought as he opened the carton and got one beer out, opened it and drank half of the beer in a go, it really feels good.
