Anna opened her eyes immediately, she slowly pushed Jason away and stared deep into his eyes which was still covered with his passion and desire "Anna?" She heard again. Mom is back? She thought, why is she back today? Why is it today that she will keep to her words, why didn't she come back tomorrow as always expected of her?
Jason was still staring at her, not ready to let her go. He reached to kiss her again but she averted her face, she stood up from his lap immediately and put on her top, she picked up her bra and bag and sneaked out of the room. Jason sat watching her, he wanted to call her back, he wanted so badly to call her name but he bit his tongue. He never let himself call her name even in his dream, because he is afraid she might be close to him in reality and then hear him calling. He closed his eyes to burn down the desire that she built in him.
Anna sneaked into her own room, she drop her bag on the floor and tossed her bra into the basket that holds her dirty clothes. She lay in her bed and covered herself with the duvet, she closed her eyes tightly and just in time to hear footsteps in the lobby. Her door was opened seconds after and she tried her best to steady her breathing.
Veronica opened the door and stepped in "Sweety, mama is home" she said sweetly before going closer to her bed, she sighed as she watched the sleeping girl. She turned to walk away but notice the sweats covering her face and frowned "if it's too hot why did you cover yourself with the duvet?" She whispered before uncovering the duvet from her "see, that's better" she smiled and opened the windows before leaving the room and closing the door gently behind her. Anna's eyes snapped open and she heaved a sigh of relief, phew, that was close.
Jason sat on the floor with his head resting on the bed, his mind in disarray, he just couldn't understand why Anna abandoned him, she has never abandoned him in his dreams before, so why did she today? His body is still rippling with the aftermath of the passion but a part of him has refused to settle down and he is trying his best to calm himself down.
Veronica walked into her son room "Jason" she called but only to meet a sight she never expected. Jason was sitting on the floor shirtless and there were tons of empty can beers around him "what the hell Jason!" She shouted. Jason looked up to see his mother, why is she in his dream too? He wondered.
"Mom?" He muttered.
"What is the meaning of this young man?" She asked.
Jason tried to get up but the alcohol has finally gotten the best of him. He staggered when he stood up and almost fell but Veronica grabbed a hold on him at the nick of time. She helped him lay in his bed and glared angrily at him "you sleep right now young man and when you are sober, you have a lot of explaining to do" she said and bent to pick his shirt lying on the floor, she tossed it on the chair in the room before picking the empty cans and the carton that has the remaining beers. She looked at Jason who just laid on the bed with his eyes closed and sighed, Jason has never behaved like this before, she thought while walking out of the room.
Veronica threw the empty cans into the trashcan and put the remaining beers into the refrigerator, she threw the carton into the trashcan too before walking out of the kitchen to the living room. She picked up her small traveling bag and walked up the stairs to her room.
Anna walked downstairs hours later to see her mom sitting at the dinning table and typing away in her laptop "mom?" She feigned surprise before smiling and walking closer to her in a haste, almost ran to her.
Veronica looked up when she heard her daughter call her and smiled when she ran into her arms to give her a hug "mm, careful young lady" she chuckled.
"When did you get back?" Anna asked with a smile.
"Close to three hours ago" Veronica replied "how have the days been like?"
"Cool" Anna answered.
"Good" Veronica nodded before remembering the state she met Jason in "Anna, what is wrong with Jason?"
"Um...I don't know" She lied with a straight face "is something wrong with him?" She looked intently at her mother with a face filled with worry.
Veronica stared at her daughter and thought about it, of course there is no way Anna will see Jason in that state and leave him alone to go sleep, she must stay with him, that's how much they love each other. She sighed "I walked into Jason's room to see him drunk."
"What!" Anna shouted "Jason drunk? Whatever would have caused that!" She turned immediately to run up the stairs.
"Anna, wait" Veronica called "don't disturb him, he is still asleep. I have checked him for like three times now, he needs the sleep to sober up."
Anna returned to the dinning table and took a seat, her face was filled with worry and seeing her, you will know that she really don't want anything to happen to her brother "but why will he be drunk?"
"That's what I'm trying to figure out" Veronica commented.
Anna bit her lower lip and pray Jason will forget about everything. At least now she has got their mother to believe that she knows nothing, she is also going to act surprise when he disclose the reason behind his action and that will get him to do away with any lingering thought he might have, she believe "if you are hungry, dinner is in the microwave. I already have that taken care of that" she heard her mom say. She looked at her and smiled before walking into the kitchen to get her dinner.
Samuel came home to hear about his son's behavior and he too was surprised for Jason is not the type to act like that. Ever since he had allowed him to start drinking, he had never seen him drunk and just like his wife and daughter, he too believed something must be wrong and they all decided to hear from the horse's mouth when he woke up.
"Baby, it's something that everybody experience" Veronica began before sitting beside him "heartbreak is a kind of lesson, although it hurts me that you have to experience yours like this but it's inevitable" she caressed his hair "I'm so sorry you have to go through this, I really am."
"It's okay mom, I'm better now" Jason assured.
"I wasn't expecting this from Courtney" Samuel said.
"Well, it's not being written on the forehead" Veronica interjected.
"I think it's my turn to console you" Anna added before standing up to sit beside him. Jason stared at her and her words got him thinking again, haven't she already? He thought but can't just tell if she has, oh now he hates why he had let himself got drunk, at least if he hadn't, he would have been able to know if he have had a special moment with his sister, but now he can't even tell if it is a dream or not.
"It's not fair" he heard Anna say and looked at her "when I get hurt, I run to you but you" she frowned "you ran to a beer, is it that I'm not enough to console you, to hug you and tell you everything is going to be okay?"
"I'm sorry" Jason apologized but deep inside him, his mind is in turmoil. If she really had come to his room that means she should have known about Courtney and wouldn't need to act surprise now but how would she have known? It didn't happen in school and she had been in school when he came back. Courtney wouldn't have come home and tell her herself, damn, this whole thinking is really bringing back his headache, he groaned.
"Why don't you have your dinner and then go take a cold shower, maybe it will help with the headache" Veronica suggested and Samuel nodded.
Jason nodded and stood up, he really need to work on his memory, was he with Anna today? He really can't tell. The feeling of having her in his arms, kissing her and the passion she rose in him feels real but the possibility of that happening, makes him doubts his memory. Just why would she allow him to kiss her? Why would she let him suck her nipples? Thinking to that, he remembered that full, round, soft boob that he had held and sucked and his little brother stood on attention.
While eating his dinner, he kept glancing at his sister to know if there is something off about her but she acts quite normal. Her only anger is that he didn't tell her that he is heartbroken so that she will comfort him like he always do to her, apart from that, nothing else and then he decided, maybe it's really a dream and the only real life like dream he have ever had.
He went to his room after his dinner and stood at the mirror in his bathroom staring at that little red marks round his nibble, although it's faint now but he can still make it out to be teeth bites, he sighed and shook his head. There is no way Anna would do such to him, it's all the effect of alcohol, it made him think it's real, whereas it's just a dream as always, after concluding to that, he stepped inside, closed the glass door and tuned on the shower.
