A month later, Jason stepped on the soil of Los Angeles but rather than go home, he went straight to Anna's school. Anna was shocked when she received Jason's call that he was at her school gate, she had dashed out of her dorm and fair enough, he was there, she jumped on him and he spun three times with her before putting her back on her feet.

"When I call you feisty tigress, you will get annoyed but now look at you" he laughed.

Anna spanked him on his shoulder lightly, she so much wanted to kiss him but they just can't, this is LA after all "what are you doing here?"

"Hmm, that's not what you asked when you jumped on me a minute ago" he grinned.

Anna chuckled "well, first of all, I have to react on seeing you before questioning you, don't you think?"

"You busy? Come join me for dinner."

Anna looked at her dressing "I'm I good like this?"

"You will look beautiful no matter what you wear" he complimented.

"Why, thank you" she replied shyly before grabbing his hand and they strolled to a nearby restaurant.

"So how has life been like?" Jason asked after they finished ordering.

Anna sighed "great, only that I'm feeling kind of strange this days."

"Strange? How so?" Jason asked worriedly.

"Don't know. I sleep a lot, grow tired easily. Twice I puked in school."

"You puked?"

"Yea, but I think is fever. The school nurse gave me some medicine and I was okay after that."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want you to worry and besides, I'm okay now."

"Are you sure?"

"Yep."

"Or should we see a doctor?"

"No need. I'm okay now" she smiled "how long will you be staying?"

"How long do you want me to?" He asked coquettishly.

Anna chuckled "till I round up next week, then we can return together."

Jason laughed "no can do. I will be staying three days. I told mom I will be back in three days time."

"Does she know you are here?"

"Nope."

Anna widened her eyes "you didn't tell her?"

"I mustn't tell her" he rolled his eyes "I will go home in three days time. Uncle Peterson asked me to come over next Monday to familiarize myself with the company like he said."

"Oh" their food arrived then "I can't believe you are done with school and will be starting work soon. Will you be going from home?"

"Yep, for a while."

"You are moving out?" She asked shocked.

"Yep. I have come of age."

"You are twenty one!"

"No ma'am. I will be twenty two next month."

"Oh, that's true" she looked solemn "will you be going home during weekends?"

Jason smiled and got up from his seat, he leaned across the table and placed a soft kiss on her lips "you will be visiting me."

Anna's eyes lit up immediately "I will?"

"Yep" Jason replied before sitting back on his seat. Anna smiled beautifully and then started eating her food with more enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, at the same time that day, Veronica was busy typing away on her laptop when her phone screen lit up, followed by the sound of her ringtone, she glanced at the phone before picking it up "hello Anita."

"Veronica, where are you?"

"At home. Is something the matter?"

"Anna and Jason are your children right?"

Veronica furrowed her brows at the question "is there any problem?"

"I have only seen Jason in a photo but I will know him anywhere, and I have met Anna in person, so I know her too ..."

"What are you saying Anita, go straight to the point" Veronica interrupted impatiently.

"Anita, I'm going to say this loud and clear, stop reporting about my children to me, understand?"

"You are not seeing what is going on here Veronica, the way Jason looks at Anna is the way a man does to his lover."

"And I'm telling you Anita, I don't want this shit. If Jason is really in LA and with Anna, I will want you to stop monitoring my children, I don't see anything wrong if he visits his sister. So please, stop it" and she hung up angrily. She got into her car and slammed the door after her. Veronica drummed her fingers on her steering before unlocking her phone and dialing Jason's number. He picked on second ring "where are you?"

"I'm in school, is anything the matter?" He asked.

Veronica inhaled and exhaled "mom?" She heard Jason called from the other side.

"No nothing, I just wanted to know. Alright then, I will call you later, I need to get to the office."

"Oh, okay, bye."

"Bye."

Back at the canteen, Jason stared at his phone after talking to his mom "what is wrong?" He heard Anna asked and looked at her.

"Mom. She just called and asked where I am."

"Oh, you think she knows you are in the country?"

Jason was silent for a while as his mind calculated the possibility "I don't know, but it sounds like she is not sure."

"Will you be going back then?"

"I don't know" he answered.

Anna wanted to speak but she suddenly felt nausea and jumped up from her seat, she rushed to the bathroom immediately with her hand covering her mouth and the other holding her stomach. She started vomiting immediately she was inside the ladies room.

Jason followed her and stopped at the door while he watched her, he walked closer to her and rubbed her back. Anna splashed water on her face and rinsed her mouth when she felt better, she looked at the mirror and saw Jason looking at her "why are you looking at me like that? Why is your face like that?"

Jason frowned his face as his mind contemplates, he wanted to speak but seems to be finding it difficult before he finally voiced out his question "have you seen your period?" He asked softly.

"What?" Anna asked before doing the calculation in her mind "it should be out on fourteen."

Jason frowned deeper when he heard her answer "Anna, today is seventeen."

Anna froze while still looking at him through the mirror "seventeen?" She asked and saw Jason nod through the mirror.

She turned to look at him with fear in her eyes "what...what...what do..do you...think?"

Jason remained silent for a while before heaving a deep sigh "I think we need to go to a hospital."
