Veronica stepped out of her office, it's been a tiring day, and she wants to do nothing but go home, have dinner, take a shower and go to bed. The thought of shower caused her body to tingle with expectation. She walked to the parking lot and got into her car, she closed the door and just in time to hear her phone ringing, she searched her handbag and got it out "hello Sharon."

"Veronica. How are you?"

"I'm okay, you?"

"I'm great. Sorry I didn't turn up for the meeting last week, I was just so busy."

"It's okay, we managed."

"Oh, where are you?"

"On my way home."

"Oh. Benjamin's father had a heart attack again, so we rushed him to the hospital."

"Oh my, that's too bad. Is he feeling better now?"

"Yes, he is getting better, he has even regained consciousness."

"That's good. Well, I wish him quick recovery."

"Thank you. Em, that reminds me, is Anna sick?"

"Anna, sick? No, not that I know of. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I just saw her and Jason leaving the hospital while I was getting down from my car, she looked kind of pale. I left to buy food for George and just saw them now."

Veronica was in shock, now this is not Anita, why will Sharon claim to have seen them too? "Are you sure it was them?"

"Veronica, I have known those kids since they were babies. I will know them anywhere."

Veronica bit her lip "did they see you?"

"I don't think so. Like I told you, I was getting out of my car when I saw them."

"Okay then."

"Do you want me to find out for you what they came to do? Do you think one of them is sick and they don't want you and Sam to know?"

Veronica thought about it, just this morning she had called Jason after Anita called her, she asked him where he was and he claimed he was in school, so how can Sharon have seen them too? Are they really hiding something from her? "Can you do that?"

"Yes, Bernita is working here, don't you remember?"

"Oh that's good, you think you can ask her for me?"

"Sure. I will get back to you when I have done so."

"Okay, thank you. I will be expecting to hear from you."

"Of course no problem" and she hung up.

Veronica stared at her windshield, the first time can be a glitch, the second time too but can the third? Is something really going on between Anna and Jason? Of course not, she shook her immediately, she can't believe she just had that thought. But why will Jason be with Anna? And why would he lie to her that he is in school? Why did they visit the hospital? Is Anna sick or does Jason has a terminal sickness and want to keep it away from her and Sam? She had always known the two confides in each other with their problems before talking to her or Samuel, what could it be this time?

Should she call Jason? No, he will just lie to her again, what of Anna? If they are together, of course she will lie to her too. Well, guess she will just wait for Sharon's call then, but still, she needs to talk to Sam about this. She started the car and changed her destination from home to her husband's workshop, although she was sad to have to miss her highly expected shower but she needs to solve out her children first, after all, they are her first priority.

Veronica stopped in front of Samuel's workshop. She got down from the car and walked into the shop, the sound of a running saw was deafening. She covered her ears and walked closer to the busy man, she knew he won't hear her, so she forgo about calling him and just tapped him instead. Samuel jerked and swirled the saw, causing Veronica to yelp and stagger a few steps backwards.

Samuel saw his wife and removed his working glasses, he turned off the saw and glared at his wife "honey, I have told you times without number, never startle a man with a running saw!"

"I'm sorry, it was just so loud. You can't hear me if I call."

"Try first before concluding. I'm not deaf you know" he dusted off the tiny particles of woods on his body and removed his earplugs before looking at her again, he smiled and pulled her in for a tight hug and then placed a soft kiss on her lips "now tell me, why is the highly respected Mrs Macaulay here, in this dirty workshop?" He grinned.

Veronica spanked his shoulder lightly and smiled "like I'm not your wife" she rolled her eyes.

Samuel smiled and pointed his index finger at her while saying "that you are." He walked into his office and she followed him, she sat on his chair and picked up the cup of coffee on his table "that's already cold" he told her.

She nodded and still sipped from it "where is Mason?"

"I sent him to the Grayson's, there are some works he needs to finish there" he looked at Veronica intently "tell me honey, why are you here?"

"Can't I visit my husband again?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"It's simple" he said walking to sit on the chair opposite her "call Jason and ask him where he is."

"I did and he said he is in school."

"Well I will believe my son over an outsider, he has never lied to you before, so why would he now?"

"Exactly what I thought but just this evening, when I left the office. I got a call from Sharon..."

Samuel interrupted "and she said she saw them?" He rolled his eyes "why are they monitoring my children? Honey you need to tell your women affairs to stop spying on my kids. Even if Jason went to Anna's school, of what business is it to them? I don't see anything wrong with him going to her school, she is his sister for crying out loud, it's not wrong for him to check up on her."

"Exactly what I thought, but what I don't understand is why Jason will lie being in school to me when he is with Anna."

Samuel remained quiet "have you confirmed he is with Anna?"

"Not really but when Sharon called, she said she saw them walking out of the hospital."

Samuel stared at her shocked "hospital?"

"Yes. That's when I start getting worried. Why would they go to a hospital? Do you think they are hiding something from us?"

Samuel bit his lower lip in thoughts "have you called any of them?"

"No, they might deny it, after all Jason denied being in her school."

"Hmm" Samuel heaved a sigh "what are you thinking now?"

"Is one of them sick and they are hiding it from us?"

"Why would they do that?"

"Beats me" she sighed in frustration and rest on the chair, her phone started ringing and she looked at the screen "it's Sharon" she said to Samuel who nodded before answering the call "hey Sharon. What!" Her phone dropped from her hand and she looked at Samuel who had jumped on his feet in shock.

Samuel approached her and picked up her phone, he ended the still ongoing call with Sharon's voice saying 'hello, hello, Veronica?' he looked at his wife and grabbed her hand "what is it honey?" He asked softly.

Veronica's lips quivered lightly as she looked at him "Anna is pregnant."
