Bennett asked, “You're awake?”
“Yes,” Yvonne nodded.
“Waking up so early? I guess I didn't tire you out too much last night,” Bennett chuckled, lightly tapping the tip of her nose.
After all, they were outdoors, and the tent wasn't exactly soundproof. Bennett had been holding back, careful not to be too rough.
Yvonne shot him a playful glare. “Nicola is right here. Don't say things like that.”
Bennett's lips curved into a smirk as he sat down across from Yvonne, placing the food container on the table.
“I brought you breakfast. Eat it while it's hot. You used up a lot of energy last night, so you need to refuel.” He opened the container and handed her a spoon.
“You're still talking nonsense,” Yvonne grumbled, giving him another look before lowering her head to eat the porridge.
Bennett had bought it from a well-known Cantonese diner, and the porridge was quite good.
Yvonne ate half a bowl of porridge and two fried dumplings.
Nicola loved egg tarts. The little girl ate two in one go, hiccupping afterward.
“You little glutton,” Yvonne said with a laugh, pinching Nicola's cheek.
Nicola really was adorable. Yvonne suddenly thought that having a cute little child with Bennett wouldn't be so bad.
Just as they finished breakfast and packed away the containers, Noah and Dominic returned.
Dominic was carrying a bucket half-full of various kinds of fish. It looked like they'd had a good catch.
“Daddy's the best!” Nicola praised, running over to Noah's side on her little legs.
Noah smiled and ruffled her hair.
