Bennett’s hand paused as he was cutting his steak. He looked up at Yvonne and asked, half-joking and half-serious, “Are you trying to give me a heads-up?”

“I’m just afraid you’ll get all jealous again,” Yvonne said, resting her forehead in her hand. “I was reading my script last night, and there was a line that said: ‘If I had wanted to be with him, you never would have had a chance.’ Sounds pretty ruthless, right? But it’s kind of true, isn’t it?”

Bennett didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “Maybe you should spend a little less time reading your scripts.”

“Right, right, right,” Yvonne nodded vigorously. She speared a piece of steak with her fork, fed it to him, and then gave him a ridiculously sycophantic grin.

Bennett reached out and gently stroked her hair, his eyes soft and adoring.

Truthfully, he wasn’t angry. He could never be angry with Yvonne. It was just that seeing Thomas constantly hovering around her was incredibly irritating.

“So, you’re filming a modern drama this time?” Bennett asked casually, continuing to patiently cut his steak.

“Mhm, a lighthearted romance. It’s a pretty popular genre these days,” Yvonne replied.

“No kissing scenes, or bed scenes, or any of that nonsense, right?” he pressed.

“This is a respectable production. Absolutely no bed scenes, and the few kissing scenes are all done with clever camera angles,” Yvonne assured him.

Sigh. Having such a jealous man in her life could be a real headache sometimes.

Bennett finished cutting another plate of steak and passed it to her.

Yvonne shook her head. “I can’t eat too much. I have to watch my diet while filming.”

Bennett didn’t push it and began to eat slowly and deliberately himself.

After they finished dinner, they left the private room.

Bennett went to pay the bill while Yvonne went to the restroom.
