It was the seventh year of my relationship with Cassius Wilde.

I secretly bought a wedding dress and mustered up the courage to propose to him.

Unfortunately, I arrived a few minutes late to the party that day.

I happened to overhear him chatting with his friends.

"You mean Everly Starling? I'm bored with her already."

Cassius lit a cigarette, laughing nonchalantly, "Seven years, wouldn't you be bored too?"

The others laughed along, "True, seven years, even an angel would lose her flavor."

"Though Everly is quite beautiful."

"Great body too. At Cassius's birthday last time, she wore a strapless dress. Every man there couldn't take their eyes off her."

Another burst of laughter ensued.

That night, I didn't enter that party room. I made up an excuse about having a headache and went home early.

Cassius didn't ask a single question and just hung up the phone.

The determination to break up was probably set in stone that night.
