Anya was practically bouncing with excitement. She wanted so badly to call every aunt and cousin to spread the good news, but it was Aunt Milka’s special moment, and it wasn’t her place to shout it from the rooftops. So she held it in, happiness bubbling over as she counted down the minutes till she could spill everything to her boyfriend.

Leo hadn’t forgotten Anya’s call. He slipped out of the private room, found a quiet spot, and dialed her up. “Hey, babe, did you need to talk to Chad?”

“Chad, Milka’s officially Aunt Milka now! I just had to tell you—thought you could use some of this good luck.”

Leo laughed. “So it happened at lunch today?”

“Yep, right at lunch.”

“So you ate alone today?”

Anyone who truly loves Anya always thinks of her first—never anyone else.

Anya grinned, “I did, but honestly, it was delicious. Chad, what are you up to?”

They chatted a bit more. When Anya found out he was busy with work, she hurried him off the phone so he could get back to it. Then she dove into her food, eating with gusto. Once she was full, she wiped her mouth, straightened her clothes, and went back to the office.

By the end of the day, both the Solomon family and the Arrowoods could finally breathe easy.

But Mars still felt a little on edge. “Milka, let’s go get our marriage license tomorrow.”

Milka rolled her eyes. “Why don’t we just have the baby the day after tomorrow, too?”

“How about we try making one tonight?” Mars joked.

Milka shot him a look, but couldn’t help smiling. The engagement ring sparkled on her finger.

That afternoon, Milka got engaged. That night, she posted the good news on Facebook. No pictures of Mars or her parents—just a blurry shot of Mars’s shoulder. That hazy photo only made Mars seem more mysterious, sparking everyone’s curiosity. Milka captioned it: Still the one I wanted to spend forever with, all those years ago.

The comments were a flood of congratulations. Only Director Grant scowled at her phone, slapping it down on the desk in frustration.

This couldn’t drag on any longer.

The next morning, Milka walked into the office and was immediately surrounded by coworkers offering congratulations. Anya even ran up from downstairs, calling out, “Aunt Milka~ come here, quick!”

Milka laughed as she stood up. “There’s only five minutes left before work—what are you doing up here?”
