"This bun is so good. Leo, got any more?"

Leo watched his girl's suddenly massive appetite, his mind spinning with possibilities. Lately, every time she came to him, she was ravenous. And she had definitely eaten lunch today.

"Leo?"

"Hmm?"

Anya wiped her mouth. "The bun is gone. Do you have another one?"

Leo got up, went to the pantry, grabbed another warmed bun, and handed it to her.

Then, he studied his girlfriend's face seriously before his gaze slowly drifted down to her stomach. "Anya, have you been feeling unwell lately?"

Anya blinked, completely confused. "Why would I be feeling unwell?"

If they hadn't crossed that line, he could have completely ruled out the possibility. But now... Leo stood up, walked over, and firmly closed the office door before sitting back down. "Anya, I'm going to run out and buy a pregnancy test. I need you to go to the bathroom and check."

The moment the words left his mouth, Anya froze completely. She forgot to chew, her cheeks still puffed out with food as she stared at her boyfriend. Her eyes widened in pure terror and disbelief. "L-Leo, that's impossible. We always use protection." Her voice trembled.

She was already progressive enough to sleep with him before marriage. If she ended up pregnant out of wedlock, her mind would just blank out completely.

Leo gently patted her shoulder. "Don't panic. It might be nothing. But if it is, I'll go straight home tonight and formally ask your dad for your hand tomorrow. I've got you."

Abandoning the half-eaten bun, the two hurriedly left the office without looking back.

Once they reached Waterford Estates, Anya didn't even bother taking off her shoes before bolting straight into the bathroom.

Leo paced the living room, staring up at the ceiling, his Adam's apple bobbing.

In that moment, he was incredibly nervous and slightly panicked, but he knew he had to stay grounded for Anya. Otherwise, his girl would be even more terrified.

Eating fast meant getting hungry fast, which explained her ravenous state that afternoon.

With the mystery solved, the sheer terror finally dissipated.

"With Milka gone, you'll be the only one left at the company. Can you handle that?" Leo asked.

Anya thought for a moment. "It'll definitely be hard to get used to at first, but I can't rely on her forever. I'll adjust. Maybe I'll make new friends, or maybe I'll just learn to work perfectly fine on my own."

Seeing how optimistic she was, Leo reached out and pulled her into a tight hug. Anya was completely bewildered by the sudden affection. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Leo murmured.

Anya smiled softly. "Leo, I want to see Henry again."
