Henry let out a tiny yawn of his own, though his nosy nature remained intact. "Mommy, did Auntie and the others get home yet?"

Mia pulled out her own phone. "Let me text them and ask."

Meanwhile, Chad's phone rang. "Hey, Molly. Tonight I—"

"Daddy, it's Wayne."

A gentle warmth spread across Chad's face. "Hey, sweetie. Are you tired? Missing Daddy?"

Wayne gave a soft hum. "Are you coming home, Daddy?"

"I'll be back tomorrow. Did you have anything yummy for dinner tonight?"

While Wayne chatted with his dad, Mia received her replies. "Your godmother just got home. Your brother and sister are still walking, about five minutes away."

From the front seat, Andre asked, "What did you all do today?"

"Caught a cheater!"

Jade nearly slammed the gas pedal, and Andre whipped his head around to stare at his precious son who had just blurted out those three words.

Mia pinched her son's chubby cheek. "Henry, what are you talking about?"

"Anya said it! She said we went to catch a cheater. I don't know what it means." But he had certainly memorized it.

Andre looked at his wife. "Was it Leo?"

"You raised the boy. Do you think that's possible?" Mia fired back.

Andre agreed it was highly unlikely and turned his gaze back to his troublemaking son.

Mia sighed, explaining. "It was Anya's boss. She took Anya with her. We were talking about it, and who knew this little guy was eavesdropping again? He asked me what it meant, and I didn't know how to explain it, so I just brushed it off. Of course, he remembered."

Henry blinked his big, bright eyes, shining like dark gems. "I have a good memory."

"Oh, really? What else do you remember?"

Bruce had already called out to him several times. "Dad, it's time for bed."

"I slept all afternoon. I'm not tired. You go to sleep," Hansen dismissed him.

He even called out to his daughter-in-law, "Naomi, drag Bruce back to bed. Tell him to stop nagging me."

"Dad, if you don't sleep now, you'll be sleeping until noon tomorrow."

Hansen waved a hand impatiently. "Fine, I'll go to bed as soon as my two grandsons get home."

Just as the words left his mouth, the sound of a car parking echoed from the yard.

Bruce looked at his father. "Dad, time to turn off the phone and sleep."

"Grandpa! I'm back!"

Henry burst through the door carrying a bag of spicy takeout, spilling a bit of the sauce in his excitement. Right behind him, Andre's voice followed, "Slow down."
