"There aren't any more gold bars. That was the only one, and it was the biggest," Andre said. And naturally, it had been scooped right up by his wife.

"Daddy, I found one too!" Henry triumphantly held up a gleaming, golden rectangular bar.

But the moment he tried to bend it, it snapped. "Oh, it's just chocolate!"

He happily split it with Wayne.

Meanwhile, Hansen was deeply engrossed in his own treasure hunt. It took his brain a moment to process the earlier conversation. He looked at the butler. "Did Molly just call me stingy?"

The butler sighed softly. "Sir, it's already in the past."

Hansen glared at his daughter. "Hmph. Just for that, you're not allowed to find the things I hid."

Just then, Molly popped open a brightly lit capsule. "Who put a diamond bracelet in here? Mia, was this you?"

Mia leaned in. "Nope. Andre never bought me that style."

Naomi stepped over to inspect it. "Isn't this a style from over twenty years ago? With the little pendant and the 'love' engraving behind the diamonds? You can't even buy these anymore."

Hansen suddenly looked sheepish. "Molly, put that down. That's not for you."

"Dad? You put this in here?"

Molly held up the bracelet, grinning as she bumped her shoulder against her father's. "So romantic back in the day, huh? Bought this for Mom?"

Hansen reached for it. "Give it here. I meant for Naomi or Mia to find it."

Molly glared at her. "...Chad, go put one of your medals in there so I can pull out some gold too."

Chad couldn't help but laugh.

Only the two toddlers were still fiercely dedicated to finding their prizes. Spotting an ornament hanging higher up near the branches, Henry stretched his little arm as far as it would go, struggling to reach it.

Eventually, everyone walked away with a prize. Henry and Wayne quickly lost interest in the remaining baubles and ran back outside to play.

Elsewhere, Anya had taken the time to decorate her own apartment. When Leo got home, he immediately complained. "Why are we celebrating Western holidays? New Year's is going to be way livelier than this."

Yet, his hands weren't empty. "Here. Your Christmas present."

Miles away, Milka walked home along a quiet, snow-covered street. Her boots crunched softly against the packed snow. She held her phone up, video chatting with Mars. "Why didn't you wait until you got home to call? Isn't it freezing out there?"
