For the time being, Mia and Henry spent their days keeping an eye on Hansen, and in the evening, Andre would come pick up his wife and son to go home.
Today was another day spent watching over her father-in-law.
That evening, Chad, Molly, and Wayne came over to visit.
On the way there, Chad told his wife about their nephew sneaking off to find him at the station earlier that day.
When they arrived, Molly grabbed her best friend. "Mia, let's go chat."
The two women headed into the courtyard and gossiped for ages while Henry and Wayne played with their new toys.
Meanwhile, Leo had taken Anya out for lunch and then dragged her back to the office to hang out for the afternoon. That evening, he took her to her favorite spot, Everglow Town. They strolled through the streets, eating their way through the night market until they were completely stuffed before heading home.
Janice had taken a few days off work. Nobody knew exactly what was wrong, but rumors of her divorce had spread through the office, and people kept trying to pump Anya for information.
Anya kept her mouth firmly shut. "Janice is away on a business trip. That's why she's not here."
But Anya knew the truth: Janice was too bruised and battered to be seen in public.
Anya had been worried sick about her, but was too nervous to visit on her own. She spent the entire evening looking distressed, afraid to bring it up in case Leo scolded her.
Leo took one look at his girlfriend and immediately knew what was bothering her. "You're worried about Janice and want to go see her?"
Anya nodded.
Leo looked at his kind-hearted, silly girl. "Let's eat first. After dinner, I'll take you over there. I'll feel better if I go with you."
"Thank you, Leo!" Anya beamed.
On the way there, Anya bought fresh fruit and vegetables to bring to Janice's house.
"She's probably not at her place," Leo pointed out. "Call and ask where she's staying."
Anya made the call, and sure enough, Janice was staying in a hotel.
