I had trouble waking up the next morning. The blissful dreams of Alexander were way to comforting and the thought of having to go see Marcus dreaded me.

Perhaps I could've skipped a day, or simply called in sick; however Marcus had specifically dialed my phone leaving a message that referred to how he had missed me and wished to see me.

With a sigh, I tossed out of bed and didn't bother doing it so gracefully. Nor did I bother fixing up the creases that crinkled out on the sheets or even fix up my duvet.

Walking into my ensuite, I freshened up and tied my hair up in a high and tight pony tail. Today I wore a red, velvet materialized pencil skirt, with a black shirt tucked in, slipping on a long necklace with black, heeled boots.

Grabbing one of my many handbags, I didn't stick around my apartment any longer as I rushed down the stairs to leave.

Walking past the kitchen, I noticed a few dirty plates in the sink and I paused for a second.

Later. I thought to myself and with a smirk walked out of the door, slamming it behind me.

Some things could wait. Revenge couldn't.

Walking out of the elevator, I descended towards the very familiar direction of Marcus' office.

His door was surprisingly wide open and I took it as an open invitation. The halls were empty besides me, so I slowly walked towards the door and stepped in.

"Marcus?" I said as I spotted him with his feet up on the desk and the phone to his ear.

Marcus glanced at me and held up one finger silently telling me to give him a second.

I gritted my teeth, but did so anyways.

"Catelyn," Marcus sighed, "-when you get this call me back. I need you here and why the hell does this bank statement say half a million was pulled out of the companies budget?" Marcus spoke into the receiver with an annoyed tone as he held a paper, examining it.

I tilted my head at his words.

Huh.

Marcus let out a sigh and ended the call as he tossed his phone onto his desk.

Getting up, Marcus fixed his tie and walked over to me with a smile.

"Victoria isn't this a pleasure," he cooed and grabbed my waist as he pulled me towards him.

"Always is," I grinned and batted my eyelashes at him.

I was getting rather good at role playing, it amazed me.

I tilted my head and put on a confused look as I looked at Marcus.

"What was that about," I asked referring to the phone call.

Marcus looked above my head and shrugged.

"Catelyn being Catelyn," he simply said with a grin and I let out a small laugh.

Marcus rolled his shoulders and rubbed his neck as he grunted.

"My phones been going off non stop. The invites were just handed out and everyone's in a hurry to-" he was cut of by a loud shrill.

Marcus' phone began to ring as soon as I opened my mouth to ask what invite he was talking about.

"You see?" Marcus mused and smirked as he walked back over to the desk and picked up his phone.

Answering it, he put it on speaker and tossed it back down carelessly as he sat back on his desk chair and leaned back.

"Speak," he said flatly and I slowly walked over to the side of his desk and slightly sat on it with my arms crossed over my chest.

"You sick bastard," the person on the phone sneered and my eyebrows shot up.

Marcus frowned and angrily leaned forward.

"I certainly hope you have the wrong number and did not just call I, Mr Williams, a bastard," Marcus hissed and I inwardly grinned.

Oh dear Marcus. You're more than a bastard.

The person on the line laughed humorlessly and I shuffling around was heard.

"-and I sure as hell hope you aren't trying to start something with I, Mr Sanders," the man said and my eyes widened.

Marcus also froze as he stared at the phone. After a few seconds of silence he shot forward and picked the phone up, taking it off speaker and placing it near his ear.

"Mr Sanders! What a pleasure!" Marcus quickly said as he clenched his fist shaking his head at his stupid mistake.

Marcus slightly pulled the phone away from his ear. It was obvious Mr Sander was shouting and yelling about.

Even from my distance, I made out cussing and some words that even put my insults to shame.

Marcus seemed baffled as his cocky facade disappeared and a look of panic and confusion was now plastered onto his features.

"Mr Sanders..." Marcus trailed off.

"I do not understand the disrespect that is being displayed. The product I had sent over, is the original," Marcus stressed.

"-I allowed this privilege so we could sign the contract and join our companies," Marcus said with a clenched jaw.

He then frowned, "-Right. I apologize."

There was more shouting and yelling on the line. I tried my best to listen and watched Marcus closely at the same time.

Marcus slammed his fist down onto the desk and my head snapped towards him.

Marcus' face suddenly transformed. His features darkened and he clutched the phone murderously. His eyes seemed to turn darker as he hissed into the phone.

"You received a what?" He said in a low and deadly voice. He seemed to have forgot I was in the room.

Marcus listened to what Mr Sander was saying and then he gritted his teeth.

"Yes I heard. You seem to have and I quote, receive a fucking calculator," Marcus said. However there was no humour in his voice. Just pure anger.

After more yelling Marcus closed his eyes tight shut for a few seconds.

Listening, he then nodded and opened his eyes.

What the hell.

"I'm sorry," Marcus gritted as he cleaned the blood.

He was also never sorry. Well not truly sorry.

"Ah," I mumbled a little baffled by his quick change in moods, "-It's fine. Just a little scratch," I shrugged with a tight grin.

Marcus paused and stopped to stare at me.

I didn't hold the eye contact and I looked past his head. Marcus noticed and grabbed my chin, making me look him.

"You know Victoria," he slowly said, "-that's what I love about you," Marcus said softly and I grew even more confused by the second.

"You're a strong person. You're tough and not like the weak women I've been with," Marcus smiled.

My eyes grew wide and I tried my best to remain neutral. However I had the urge to narrow my eyes. By weak I certainly hope he did not mean Samantha.

Well me.

And no women were weak. I refuse to accept that.

However despite his words, I smiled sweetly and batted my eyelashes.

"Well that is very sweet of you Marcus. Now I better go and get myself cleaned up. And you should call somebody to clean-" before I could finish, Marcus placed his index finger on my lips to silence me.

"See?" He said with a grin, "-you just put it all behind. You don't dwell on he past. Kind of like me," he stated.

I almost snorted. Put it all behind? I certainly did not simply put my parents death in the past.

I simply smiled and turned to leave. I wanted to go praise Quinton for his handy work. Marcus was furious. Maybe he had calmed down now, but I know he'll go off again soon.

Marcus grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him; close.

The close approximate wasn't something I liked and I tried my best to keep up the fake smile.

"I might actually be falling for someone for the first time," Marcus mumbled with a smirk.

I tried my best to cover up the look horror that threatened to slip my features.

"What?" I said in real shock.

However Marcus simply smiled at me and held my chin. Leaning in he pressed his lips softly to mine with his eyes closed.

My eyes were wide open and I was still in shock.

Had he actually fallen for me?

What,

The,

Hell.
