"Why me? I'm not interested in those things," I said.

"Come with us. If you don't..." he stopped and acted like he was thinking. "I'll report you to our prof."

I glared at him. Nonetheless, I had no choice but to agree and come with him to watch the University Night he was saying.

It was crowded and noisy. Saint Benilde College's gymnasium is wide and big but the students were still crowded inside. There are different colors of lights that brightened up the gymnasium, while the stage was the only place that was not dim.

"From the College of Arts and Sciences. Miss Olive Trinidad!"

I wasn't interested in the program, but when I heard Olive's name, I couldn't help but to be interested. I immediately turned my eyes to the stage and saw the Senator's daughter in the middle. Even if I was far from the stage, I could still clearly see her. Beautiful. She was beautiful not only because of the dark green sequined long gown she was wearing, but by her smile.

I closed my eyes, waking myself up from daydreaming. I can hear the people clapping their hands but my heartbeat was louder. It caused me to feel nervous and scared.

"For you, what is love, Miss Trinidad?" the emcee asked.

"Love is selfless. Ready to sacrifice, Ready to let go. It is invisible. Yet, the purest feeling that can change you for the better."

The people inside the gym clapped their hands once more. Some even stood up in awe of her answer. She was just smiling as she roamed her eyes around the gymnasium. I don't know why, but I felt like she was staring at me when she stopped her eyes from wandering. I don't have any idea as to why I smiled back at her as if we understood each other.

Love is selfless. I never forgot what Olive said. I admire her for being kind hearted and smart. She was known in the school and was envied but she didn't mind it. Fame doesn't matter to her. She was more active in participating in outreach programs than to socialize with rich people like her.

While I was cowering my head on the table, I couldn't help but to smile as I watched Olive read a book in the library. Like me, she also uses eyeglasses when reading. She loves to scratch her nose whenever she flips a page of the book. Like me, she also loves to stay in the library when there's no classes.

I'm scared of the things that are happening to me. I'm scared to admit the possibilities. I felt like I was sinning whenever I watched Olive laughing with the librarian. I feel like the little things I've noticed and observed from her weren't normal anymore.
