Her words only increased my guilt, if only I had known that Waleed was deliberately trying to avoid her. "Jeena, it's not like that sweety, we really enjoy your company. I had been so lonely before you came to stay with us. I am glad you are here, and you know Waleed is planning to go to the beach house this weekend. He is really feeling guilty, that he couldn't spend enough time with you," I knew Waleed was going to hate me for this, but I didn't have any choice.
"Really?" Jeena asked me suspiciously.
"Yes, of course, I am going to ask Rania and Sheema to come along so that we could have a girls night, " I
lied, after sensing her interest.
It was the least I could do for her, for how Waleed had behaved with her, a complete jerk. Even though I knew how to behave with guests better than him, he was really an arrogant asshole like before, the only difference was that I am in love with that asshole now.
I told her some jokes to cheer her up and after nearly half an hour I was able to convince her for dinner. We came to the living room, where Waleed was busy on his cell phone, with a bored expression on his face.
I gave him a death glare as we descended the stairs, his expressions changed immediately and he tried to look cheerful. He joked with Jeena as I went into the kitchen and told the maid to set the table for dinner. " Jeena, the food is amazing, I can't tell you how much I like it, " I praised Jeena while eating.
She had really made a lot of dishes, all favorite of Waleed, I felt even Waleed was enjoying the food, though he was upset that we couldn't go out for dinner but was acting normal because of Jeena. "Thanks, Rameen. It's really not a big deal, it must be known how easy cooking is, " She said humbly. I laughed at her words and narrated my experiences in the kitchen with my mom and aunt. She looked startled to know that I sucked at cooking.
"But, Waleed loves homemade food, he is such a big fan of my mom's cooking," Jeena said looking at Waleed in a surprised tone.
"Yeah, that's why I have hired the best chef in the town," Waleed said as he shrugged his shoulder.
Her words stuck in my mind, I know Waleed was a foodie and I had never ever made him breakfast. Before Jeena was here he used to make breakfast on the weekend, and since Jeena was staying with us we have asked the cook to make breakfast on weekends as well.
"But Waleed," Jeena tried to say something and was interrupted by Waleed.
"Jeena," His tone held a warning.
I saw Jeena give a cold stare and then she focused her attention on the food. I was feeling a little awkward, I know Waleed had stopped Jeena from making any comment on me but I still was feeling degraded.
I realized my mom was right that I didn't have a single quality that was required to be a good wife. And I don't know why Waleed loved me? Did he really love me or was it just an infatuation?
I agree we have great chemistry in bed, we both love experimenting and I was as insatiable for him as he was for me. But was it enough for a wife to be just good in bed? What else did I have in me to be married to a man like Waleed, who was nearly perfect in everything?
He was better than me even at cooking, and I didn't find even a single quality in me of a good wife. Is Waleed really happy with me? Will his love wear off as his desire for me to die?
"I am sorry, I know I am not good enough for you", I said looking at my hands in my lap.
"Mia my love, you are the best thing that ever happened to me, I am so lucky that I have someone like you who is so pure and innocent. I can read all your feelings on your face. You never pretend to be what you are not, like other girls, you are too honest for your own good, do you know that", He said in the last sentence with a mischievous smile.
I smiled back at him, how did he know how to say all the right words to make me feel better?
"Baby, always keep smiling like this, I love my bubbly and stubborn Mia", He pinched the tip of my nose. "Waleed, I asked Jeena to come to the beach house with us, I also told her that I was going to invite Sheema and Rania too. She was really hurt by your behavior, and I thought that it was the best way to cheer her up. I am sorry I ruined our plan", I said with guilt.
"It's okay Mia, Jeena already told me about it after dinner, I think you are right, I shouldn't have behaved with her like that, but I am not used to being nice when I am frustrated", He replied honestly.
I took his hand in mine and gently massaged his knuckles, I knew he was habituated to get what he wants, but due to Jeena, he was getting frustrated.
"What do you say, I give you a BJ to decrease your frustration", I asked, teasing him.
"Only a saint won't get tempted by an offer like that', He replied smiling, keeping his hand on his heart and faking to fall on the floor.
