110 - Elara

We are thrown back and I feel Marietta’s weight leave my back as my body tumbles through the air. When I land I feel gravel and dirt scrape my naked human skin. What the f*ck?!

I’m dazed, coughing against the dust my tumble kicked up, my brain trying to process the blurry setting around me. I reach for my wolf, but she isn’t there. My heart rate kicks up as I reach for Ben through the link. Something is seriously wrong. I feel off kilter without my wolf and Ben. I can’t feel him through the link, but I know he’s here. My Alpha blood gives me a sense of the people around me, I just can’t check in with them or verify ‘who’ is actually there. The haze in my vision is blocking my peripherals.

I blink again, I need the rest of my senses now more than ever. Everything is wrong. The Rift is in pain, suffocating, and I have no idea what happened in the last twelve hours, but it is calling me like a wounded animal to help. We walked into a trap obviously. Now I need to find out where the rest of my friends are and f*cking kill Eliza. Copyright ©️ 2025 Miss L Writes and Ember Mantel Productions

“Do you see that?” A silky and seductive voice wraps around my mind. “The baby Alpha knows she is under our control now.” A simpering laugh, almost like a purr. I’m not sure if she is talking to me or someone else. “We need her, leave the rest.”

I’m so disoriented still, I can’t control my body or mind. It feels like I hit my head too hard and everything is trying to reset in my brain. I don’t get further than that in my thought process when I am hauled up, then hanging upside down. I blink again, and see Ben face down on the ground. His head is turned away from me and he isn’t moving, but there isn’t any blood. I have to believe he’s alright. I would have felt it, even with whatever block is on my bond with him, if something bad happened to him, I would know. Jax and Dev are nearby, but I don’t see Marietta or Brianna in the heap of bodies. Where are they at? “Umpf.” F*ck that hurts. Whoever has me doesn’t care about my comfort. A shoulder digs into my lower stomach and hip.

“Just put her there. This won’t take long. The magic is already stronger with her here.” The female voice purrs again, takes a deep breath and lets it out in a contented sigh. “Can you feel it Baby Alpha?” My body is dumped on the ground. My tangled auburn hair wraps around my head, obscuring my view of the assholes who separated me from my mate and friends. I shift to a sitting position and right myself the best way I can. I can pretend to be dignified while sitting on my ass, naked, at the whim of a psychopath.

“Elara. My name is Alpha Elara Carman of the Black Claw Pack. And you are..?” I turn around to see a stunning girl. She is an almost exact replica of Brianna. Chocolate brown hair that hangs to her waist. Sharp facial features, that look fairy-like on Brianna, but looks more like a bad run in with a plastic surgeon on this girl. Her brown eyes set her apart from her sister. Where Brianna has warm honey brown eyes that invite you in, the red ring around the dark brown eyes in front of me tells me a lot about her intentions.

“You will address me as…” I hold up my hand to her. I might as well show her the level of annoyance I have if she’s going to try and kill me no matter what when she’s done using me. The one thing I know is she does need me alive right now, so I should push the level of her patience as far as I can.

“Just tell me your name, cause ‘b*tch’ is going to get old really fast.” I stand to face her, my vision still has streaks of blur, but it’s getting better. My healing ability is intact. Good to know.

She takes another shallow breath. “As I was saying, you can address me as…”
