I gulped. I knew as soon as I seen Marilyn change into that monster at the park that I was like her, too. It all made sense seeing it happen, but I really didn't want to believe it.

"I'm a wolf-thing?" I said slightly terrified. Not only was I terrified of what he was saying, but the fact that he could go all wolf-boy on me and rip me to shreds played on my mind a bit, too.

"No. You're a werewolf," he corrected me. I clenched my teeth together in silence and nodded signaling for him to go on.

"A werewolf usually shifts around thirteen, but since you were in the orphanage, your wolf probably knew it wasn't safe so she just stayed dormant." It made sense a bit. I mean, thirteen was around the age I started acting so weird. Maybe she just became restless?

"That makes sense." I said.

"The voice in your head is her, your wolf," he reminded me, "Now, this is the tricky part. So, there are actually a lot of us. Usually, werewolves run in packs," he explained, "Every pack has to have leaders. There are three ranks of leaders, okay?" I nodded my head again showing him I understood. "The Alphas, Betas, and Gammas."

"There's more than one?" I asked noticing how he pluralized each one of them.

"Yeah. There's a female and male for each rank. The Alphas are like the top of everything. The Betas are second and Gammas are third. Now, usually these three ranks don't have female children," he said which made me confused. How is that possible?

"Why? That's not fair," I said making him sigh at my childlike behavior. I didn't know if he was frustrated with me or not so I just decided to close my mouth before I got myself in trouble.

"The male gene is more dominant, I guess, because those three ranks are supposed to produce the strongest heirs of the pack, so usually they just have boys."

"That's ridiculous," I muttered to myself, but he heard me making him roll his eyes at me.

"Yeah, well, it didn't work for you, apparently." He said. I narrowed my eyes at him questioningly as he cracked his knuckles.

"For me?"
