Dylan opened the door to find a delivery guy standing outside.

While Rebecca was in the shower, Dylan had ordered some medicine for her.

As the door clicked shut behind him, Dylan returned, now holding a glass of water in his hand.

He walked over to Rebecca. “Take your medicine,” he said.

Rebecca took the pills from him, her long lashes fluttering in mild surprise. She hadn’t expected him to be this attentive. She took a sip of water before murmuring, “Thank you.”

Dylan didn’t reply.

Rebecca added, “Honestly, if it hadn’t been for you earlier… Well, there’s a long history between me and Katherine. It’s complicated…”

Dylan noticed her hesitation and cut in, “It’s fine. If you don’t want to talk about it, you don’t have to.”

He’d never been one to pry into other people’s private business.

Still, he could piece together what had happened. This whole mess clearly had something to do with Katherine’s fiancé. Earlier, he’d seen the way Alan couldn’t take his eyes off Raina. Dylan recognized that look—a man completely infatuated.

Whether they had known each other before or it was some case of love at first sight didn’t matter. His priority was to keep his employees out of trouble.

Rebecca glanced at him, surprised.

When she continued to stare, Dylan’s brow furrowed in mild irritation. “You can go get some sleep now, can’t you?”

His tone carried a gentle nudge. He didn’t like being stared at, especially by women.

Rebecca gave a small laugh. “Of course. And… thank you. For tonight.”

Dylan added, “Keep your phone on. If you need anything, call me. I’ve already told the manager to tighten security on this floor—he won’t dare show up tonight.”

“Okay, thanks.” Rebecca nodded and slipped out of the room.

Once she was gone, Dylan let out a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding.

Meanwhile, Katherine was anxiously awaiting good news from Mr. West.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the butler, who entered to quietly announce, “You have a visitor, madam.”

Katherine frowned. “It’s late. Who would come at this hour?”

The butler hesitated, “It’s… it’s the young miss.”

Katherine stood abruptly, scoffing, “The Foster family only has one young miss—and that’s me. Who else could it be?”

The butler bowed his head. “I’m sorry, miss. But… you should come see for yourself.”

With a scowl, Katherine stalked out of the room.
