Recognizing Abby's voice, Stella asked, "Yeah, is it late?"

"Not incredibly late, but you rarely sleep in this much," Abby hesitated, treading lightly. "Did you... stay up really late last night?"

Stella let out a yawn and murmured, "Yeah, it was quite late. It's been a long time since I've stayed up like that."

"So, you must be exhausted today?" Abby probed gently.

"Mhm," Stella agreed softly. Still half-asleep, she entirely missed the underlying implications in her friend's tone.

Abby took the bait and pushed further. "So, you and Joshua... are you guys living together now?"

"Yes, he's staying at my place for now," Stella answered automatically, before her brain finally caught up. "Wait, Abby, how do you know about that?"

After returning with Joshua the night before, Stella had pointed him to the guest room, taken a quick shower, and collapsed into bed. It was extremely late when they got back. How on earth did Abby know?

Abby's voice was laced with complex emotions. "Star, you really don't know? The news of your marriage to Joshua has completely blown up. The entire world knows."

Stella couldn't believe her ears. "What did you just say?"

"Look at the news," Abby urged. "Every single headline right now is about you and Joshua getting married."

While she was still on the line with Abby, another call buzzed through. It was Coleman Williams.

"Let me check the news," Stella told Abby. "I'll call you right back."

After hanging up, Stella finally noticed the barrage of missed calls and unread messages flooding her screen.

There were alerts from Skyler, Antoney, and Lauretta.
