Alex said calmly, "Your condition has been met. Now it’s time for you to meet mine."

Zarvok looked at him with a mixture of respect and fear, his massive frame tensing slightly under the weight of Alex’s gaze. The faint glow of the lights reflected off his scales, painting his face in a grim light. "Just say the word," he replied, voice steady but laced with caution. "I will try to meet them however I can within my power."

Alex smiled faintly. "Good."

"The first thing I want from you is to take care of this world while I’m absent."

"Second, the war is already over. Call back all of your forces—including the other races—and tell them to live on this continent peacefully."

"And the third one... is to establish diplomatic relations with all the monarchs, so a war does not break out again."

Zarvok nodded slowly, processing each word. The silence that followed was heavy, like the calm after a storm. "Alright. I accept them all. I just have one question."

Alex tilted his head slightly. "What is it?"

"After all that happened," Zarvok asked, his golden eyes narrowing thoughtfully, "will they really want to establish diplomatic relations with us?"

"You don’t have to worry about that," Alex said confidently. His tone carried quiet authority, the kind that left no room for doubt. "Leave all of that to me. Just tell me—do you accept the conditions or not?"

Zarvok exhaled deeply, scales shifting with the motion. "Well, I’m putting my trust in you. After all, I don’t have anywhere else to go now. I’ve made an enemy of Tiamat. I will never be able to rest peacefully unless I see that bastard’s head."

"Don’t worry," Alex said lightly. "You have me for all of that."

Zarvok smiled faintly. "I’m really thankful—"

Alex cut him off. "But I can’t promise that you’ll be alive until then."

Silence fell. The air in the chamber seemed to freeze for a heartbeat.

Then Alden and Azrael burst out laughing, the tension shattering in an instant.

Zarvok’s mouth twitched. "You really make it hard to like you sometimes."

"I know that," Alex replied. "You’re not the first person to say it."

"So," Alex continued, his expression softening, "I take it you’re on board, huh?"

Zarvok sighed, then smiled as he extended his hand. His claws gleamed faintly under the light. "Alright. I’ll put my trust in you."

Alex shook his hand firmly. "Good."

He gestured toward his companions. "Listen carefully. This demon here is Azrael, and this is Alden. From now on, whenever I’m not present, tell them if there is any problem."

Zarvok looked at Alden and Azrael and nodded. "Alright."

Alex added, "Soon I’ll arrange a meeting between you and the other monarchs. You can discuss your diplomatic relations with them."

"Sounds good to me," Zarvok said after a pause, his tone thoughtful.

Suddenly Alex stood up. "Alright. I’m short on time, so I have to go now."

Zarvok rose as well. "You have come here for the first time. At least eat before you leave. I will prepare a lavish meal for you."

Alden’s eyes lit up. "Really—"

Alex smacked him lightly on the head. "We are in a hurry."

Alden rubbed his head. "But it’s been hours since I’ve had a good meal, because of all that destruction and worrying."

"Then eat later," Alex said. "The royal palace is all fixed up. Go there and eat."
