Alex said quietly, "I have something to talk to you about."
Alicia frowned. "What is it... ?"
Alex scratched his cheek. "Well... how do I say it..."
Alicia’s eyes narrowed. "Are you trying to hide something from me?"
A small smile spread across Alex’s lips. "Well, it’s not a big deal. It’s just that in the next forty-eight hours, everyone’s going to forget all about me... and even that I existed."
Alicia laughed. "This is a bad joke, you know. If you wanted to get punched, you should’ve just said so."
Alex laughed too. "Well, this time it’s not a joke. I’m serious as hell."
At that, Alicia suddenly smiled. "That’s wonderful news. Why didn’t you tell me before? It’s not a big deal at all."
Alex chuckled. "Because you were unconscious, silly."
"I guess I was," Alicia said.
Both of them started laughing—unhinged, half-hysterical.
Suddenly, lunging forward despite the pain, Alicia planted a kick in Alex’s face.
He flew backward, crashed into the wall, and cracked it. Air rushed out of his lungs as he winced in pain.
Groaning, he stood up. "Now you see why I didn’t tell you all of this while you were unconscious... I was afraid you’d wake up just to kill me."
Mana began leaking out of Alicia’s body, bloodlust spreading through the room like a suffocating fog. "What difference does it make," she said coldly, "now that I’m awake?"
Alex brushed dust off his clothes. "Well, then I would’ve missed that kiss if I did that."
Alicia’s fist clenched.
She rushed him.
She hit him—multiple punches and kicks, each packed with frustration, fear, and anger. Alex just took it all, grunting as the blows landed, but never raising a hand to block.
Finally, instead of another punch, she grabbed him and pulled him into a tight hug.
She started crying hard, shoulders shaking.
"You’re not hurt, right...?" she asked between sobs.
Alex, sprawled half on the floor and half against the bed, answered in a groaning voice, "You should’ve asked me that before beating the shit out of me..."
"Shut up," Alicia choked out. "Will you please shut up for a second... How can you be so calm about this..."
Alex didn’t answer.
He just lifted a hand and gently caressed her snow-white hair in silence.
On the other side of the door—
Loud noises and muffled screams kept coming from inside.
Serena, Reynard, Alden, and Azrael were waiting in the corridor.
Hearing the sounds, Alden’s face flushed bright red. "Well, I’m out. Those two are definitely busy..."
He immediately turned and walked away. Azrael followed, calling, "Wait for me!" as he jogged behind Alden.
Serena covered her mouth, eyes sparkling. "Oh my, looks like things are going exactly as I expected. We should get ready for a grandchild."
Reynard yelled, "What grandchild?! How can you be so sure?!"
Serena rolled her eyes. "Don’t be silly. Don’t those voices sound familiar to you?"
"Nothing’s going to happen until they tie the knot!" Reynard shot back. "I will not stand for this."
He reached for the door, but Serena grabbed his arm and dragged him away. "Leave them. You’ll just embarrass yourself."

Meanwhile, inside—
Alicia still hadn’t let go of Alex. Her voice dropped to a soft whisper.
