As Alex said casually, "One other thing. In two days, everyone here—including you guys—will forget all about me."

A bigger shock hit Alden and Ethan. Their expressions froze completely, eyes wide, mouths slightly agape.

Alex started laughing. "You guys should see your faces right now."

As Alex laughed, Ethan said in a loud voice, "You must be joking, right?"

Alden nodded vigorously. "He must be. How can that be possible?"

Alex shook his head. "I wish I was, but that’s the thing. I’m not."

"You see, when I turned back time on such a massive scale... it has repercussions that I didn’t think about."

Both Ethan and Alden’s mouths twitched hard.

"Relax," Alex said. "I have a solution, so don’t worry."

He explained, "That’s why I’m going to the tower. That is the way."

"I have to gain true divinity and become at least a low‑rank god... so this mess clears up. Gods are not bound to restrictions like this, you know."

Alden exhaled. "So that’s the reason, huh."

"Yeah," Alex confirmed. "And there is something else too."

Alden leaned forward. "And what’s that?"

"It’s Charlotte."

Just as Alex said that, both Ethan and Alden’s expressions became grim.

Charlotte’s situation had become quite messy, with her other personality emerging and her running off to the tower. No one knew where she was or what she was doing.

Alden admitted, "To be honest, I’m quite worried about her too."

"In the circumstances she left... it didn’t look like she had any intention of coming back."

"I just hope she is alright and not in any sort of trouble."

Ethan agreed. "Yeah. I have also made up my mind—after eradicating the remnants of the cult... I’m also gonna head to the Tower of Ascension."

"Now it’s your job too. Deal with that."

Alex smiled. "So prepare yourself. It’s gonna be a hell of a workload before you can be free."

Ethan yelled, "Oh seriously, c’mon! Man, how much of the work are you gonna dump on me?"

Alex laughed.

Ethan groaned. "Well, up until now you were here, so they were too scared to make any moves in the open."

"But after everyone forgets about you, they are gonna run wild... for sure.

And I will have to deal with them, huh. Such a drag. That’s why I don’t like this hero job at all."
