Osa's POV
I gasp as Mika smirks at me through the mirror.
"I'm going to allow you to stay here. I'm going to allow you to be friends with Ben and all the others, but what you're not going to do," her knife presses harder against my neck. "You're going to stop seeing Benjamin, don't let him come in your room, don't let him touch you, just stay away from him."
"Or what?" I grit.
"Or something really, really bad will happen to you, love. Betrayal is bittersweet."
"I would never betray them."
"Blah blah blah. I'm a little smarter than what you give me credit for. Just do as I say, and you won't lose them."
"Why are you doing this?"
"Because you're trying to take away, everything I have. And if my threat isn't enough for you, his mom isn't dead. Don't let her make a permanent reappearance."
"Benjamin can take care of himself," I state.
"Not when it comes to mommy dearest." She giggles evilly. "Don't hurt him Darling, or else he'll fall right back into my arms."
"Do we have a deal?" I glare at her through the mirror.
"Yes."
"Oh, and it would be wise to keep this to yourself. Wouldn't want people mysteriously dying now, would we? I'll be watching you."

The next morning I feel terrible. I feel trapped and alone. My door creaks open and I wipe the remaining tears as Caramel steps forward.
"Oh, Osa. ." She sighs, sitting at my side. "He didn't mean it like that. ." If only you knew.
"I'm gonna break it off," I tell her and she gapes.
"I think-"
"No C, you don't understand... it's not safe." She furrows her eyebrows and I gulp. "I can't do this."
"But Osa. . . Cmon you can push this. ." She plays with a strand of my hair and I shake my head. She sighs. "Breakfast is ready. Let's go."
I decided that maybe I should just, put on my happy face and act like everything's fine.
So I ignore the looks he gives me as I sit next to him, I subtly shake off his hand when he lays it on my lap, and I decline the apple slices that Valesco passes out to me.
"I'm not hungry." I shrug as he stares at me questioningly.
Ben pushes back his chair and stands.
"I need to talk to you." He doesn't wait as he grabs my hand and pulls me into the backyard where the pool reflected the sunlight. "I'm sorry, I acted terrible yesterday... but it was only because I was worried. Don't be mad at me... " He murmurs and I gulp averting my eyes.
He takes a deep breath. "I didn't mean to hurt you. . in any way. ." He grabs my cheek and I almost melt into it, but Mika's words jolt me awake as I move away.
"Osa. ."
"I don't think we should continue... this." His eyes widen.
"What?" He gapes and I frown, unable to look him in the eye.
"I think we should stop seeing each other. It's not working out and from the beginning, you never even liked me so I think this is how it's supposed to be." I lied painfully and he furrowed his eyebrows
"I thought we were over this?" He states sounding panicked and I rub my chest. "I told you my past. . . I did things and said things I would've never, I exposed my vulnerable side and you just want to throw it away?"
"Ben, you have to understand-"
"Understand what? That you don't care about anyone but yourself?"
"I did this for you, Ben. ." Tears brim my eyes as he spins on his heel and walks away with no other word. "Ben. ."

For the rest of the day, Ben avoided me like a plague and in return, I did the same thing. Valesco frowned every time he saw one of us and the others tried to talk to us but we were too busy running away from each other.
It's for the best.
I remind myself as I lay staring at the ceiling that I had come to love. It was different... vibrant.
A knock on my door brings me out of this trance and I know who it is.
"I'm not going to waste time knocking on this door so it's either you open it or I break it down." He calls and I walk towards it shutting my eyes.
"Ben stop it," I tell him and I can hear his harsh breathing. "Listen to me. I'm doing this for you-"
"Who threatened you?" He asks sharply and I gape.
Smack!
"Crap," I whisper as it stung it didn't hurt much, but it didn't help the desire that coursed through me.
"Mika did." I can feel him tense.
"And why would you lie to me?"
"Ben I didn't-"
Smack!
Each slap was getting harder and I groaned as he lowered himself onto me.
"You're still lying." He sings and I sigh.
"I was trying to protect you."
"Alright, that's all I need to hear." If I thought it was over I was dead wrong...
More slaps rang through the air and by the time he was done I was utterly turned on.
"Next time you think about lying, breaking up, or protecting me. Just think of this beautiful moment." He whispers and I blush, biting my lip as he turns me over once again. "Do you plan on leaving me?"
"I-"
"Yes. Or no." He states tilting his head.
"No." I breathe and he smirks.
"That's what I thought." I roll my eyes as he releases me, my butt was still sore and I glared at him.
"You're so kinky." I murmur and he chuckles pulling off his shirt.
"How'd you find out?"
"Because you said, 'I'm doing this for you'" He shrugs and I nod.
"She said your mom was still alive." He freezes.
"What?"
